Foldable pedal apparatus for vehicle
Provided is a foldable pedal apparatus for a vehicle that is configured such that pedal pads protrude toward a driver to be exposed (pop-up state) such that the pedal pads can be operated by the driver in a manual driving mode in which the driver manually drives, and the pedal pads are hidden not to be exposed to the driver (hidden state) such that the pedal pads cannot be operated by the driver in an autonomous driving situation.
Display device and a vehicle with the display device
A display panel has a first panel side and a second panel side, both capable of displaying graphic display object(s). The display panel has a pixel layer, control circuitry and a sensor unit which identify the presence of at least one person at a predefined threshold distance from the display device and whether the at least one person is on the first panel side or the second panel side. The control circuitry is adapted to enable the displaying of the graphic display object in accordance with a predefined display alignment in one of a first orientation and a second orientation based on a physical environment condition.
VEHICLE INPUT DEVICE, VEHICLE INPUT METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY STORAGE MEDIUM STORED WITH VEHICLE INPUT PROGRAM
A vehicle input device comprises an operation detection section configured to detect input to an onboard unit allocated to one operation section of plural of operation sections provided in a vicinity of a driving seat due to the one operation section being operated, a preliminary action detection section configured to detect a preliminary action directly prior to the one operation section being operated, and a notification section configured to notify an occupant of information relating to the onboard unit allocated to the one operation section in a case in which the preliminary action has been detected by the preliminary action detection section.
OPERATION CONTROL DEVICE, OPERATION DEVICE, STEERING DEVICE, VEHICLE, OPERATION CONTROL METHOD, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An operation control device includes a memory; and a processor connected to the memory, the processor being configured to: in a case in which the processor receives, at an operation unit that includes a first operation region and a second operation region adjacent to the first operation region, an operation performed on the first operation region in a direction of the second operation region, limit execution of processes corresponding to operations performed on the second operation region until a predetermined condition is met.
Autonomous vehicles
Aspects of the present disclosure relate to a vehicle for maneuvering a passenger to a destination autonomously. The vehicle includes one or more computing devices and a set of user input buttons for communicating requests to stop the vehicle and to initiate a trip to the destination with the one or more computing devices. The set of user input buttons consisting essentially of a dual-purpose button and an emergency stopping button different from the dual-purpose button configured to stop the vehicle. The dual-purpose button has a first purpose for communicating a request to initiate the trip to the destination and a second purpose for communicating a request to pull the vehicle over and stop the vehicle. The vehicle has no steering wheel and no user inputs for the steering, acceleration, and deceleration of the vehicle other than the set of user input buttons.
System for monitoring application of roadway marking tape
A system for monitoring physical and/or environmental conditions during application of roadway marking tape. The system includes a data logging system that is operative to monitor one or more environmental parameters and geographical location during application of roadway marking tape. The data logging system generates a record of the parameters indexed to location. The record may be used to ensure application compliance and/or allow a user to alter one or more application parameters to ensure application compliance.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DELIVERY BY AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES
An AV receives a delivery request made by a user. The AV navigates to the user's location. The AV's onboard controller determines that the AV has arrived at the location. The onboard controller then commands the AV's motor to pause motion. The onboard controller provides the user an access to a delivery assembly in the AV. The onboard controller or the delivery assembly detects, by using sensors in the delivery assembly, whether an item has been removed from or placed into the container. Subsequent to detecting that the item has been removed from or placed into the container, the onboard controller commands the AV's motor to resume motion. The onboard controller or delivery assembly may also control a movable element in the container to allow the user to load or unload the item from a safe spot or control a divider in the container to protect the user's privacy.
Projection system for smart ring visual output
A system for displaying information indicative of driving conditions, to a driver, using a smart ring are disclosed. An exemplary system includes a smart ring with a ring band having a plurality of surfaces including an inner surface, an outer surface, a first side surface, and a second side surface. The system further includes a processor, configured to obtain data from a communication module within the ring band, or from one or more sensors disposed within the ring band. The obtained data are representative of information indicative of one or more driving conditions to be displayed to the driver. The smart ring also includes a projector module display disposed on at least one of the plurality of surfaces, and configured to present information indicative of the one or more driving conditions.
Vehicular display device and display method in vehicular display device
A vehicular display device includes a display panel and an electronic control unit. The display panel includes a main multi-display area configured to display a first content, and a sub multi-display area configured to display a second content. The electronic control unit is configured to receive one or more selection contents selected by a user, select a content to be displayed as one or both of the first content and the second content among a plurality of contents including the selection content, select the selection content as the first content or the second content depending on a situation of the vehicle, and display the selection content selected as the first content or the second content on the main multi-display area or the sub multi-display area.
Method and apparatus for releasing HUD protection mode based on vehicle information
Disclosed herein are a head-up display (HUD) including a photosensor for measuring the illuminance of incoming light and a light shutter in order to protect an imaging element vulnerable to thermal damage from sunlight reaching from the outside, and a method including setting the HUD protection mode by operating the light shutter, determining whether to release the HUD protection mode by estimating the change in the incident angle of the incoming light from the change in the vehicle orientation angle instead of using the photosensor incapable of measuring the light as the incoming light is blocked and additionally determining whether to release the HUD protection mode based on vehicle information including vehicle location, navigation map information, the brightness of surroundings of the vehicle, and rain sensor detection information.
