ATTENTION-BASED NOTIFICATIONS
A system may present notifications to an occupant of a vehicle and determine whether the occupant has given attention to the notification. The system oscillates a visual notification at an output frequency. The system captures images of an eye of the occupant to determine an eye pupil oscillation frequency associated with the occupant. The system compares the eye pupil oscillation frequency to the output frequency. The system determines whether attention was given to the notification based on whether the output frequency and the eye pupil oscillation frequency match. If the system determines that attention was not given, the system may cause performance of one or more follow-up operations.
Non-Intrusive In-Vehicle Data Acquisition System By Sensing Actions Of Vehicle Occupants
A method comprises detecting identities of occupants of a vehicle using any of a camera system, an audio system, a biometric sensing system, and a mobile device detection system in the vehicle. The method comprises matching the detected identities to corresponding profiles of the occupants. The profiles include permissions set by the occupants for collecting data about preferences of the occupants. The method comprises perceiving, based on the permissions in the profiles, preferences of the occupants for inputs received by the occupants. The perceiving includes capturing responses of the occupants to the inputs using any of the camera system, a haptic sensing system, and an audio system in the vehicle, and wherein the perceiving further includes processing the responses using trained models. The method comprises adding the preferences to the profiles to provide content to the occupants based on the preferences stored in the profiles.
BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION PRESENTATION DEVICE, BIOLOGICAL INFORMATION PRESENTATION METHOD, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM
A biological information presentation device includes a biosensor configured to detect biological information of an occupant existing in a vehicle, and a second controller configured to present, via a presenter, a fact that biological information has been detected if the biosensor detects biological information.
Sensing Mechanism
At a sensor electrode of a steering wheel, a protruding portion protrudes from a main body portion. A first thread and a second thread each extend in the protruding portion and effect conduction between a terminal at the protruding portion and a main body portion. Therefore, even if there is no conduction between the first thread and the second thread at intersection portions between the first thread and second thread in the protruding portion, the first thread and the second thread may each effect conduction between the terminal and the main body portion, and a degradation of conduction performance of the sensor electrode may be suppressed.
DRIVER OFFSET REQUEST FOR AUTOMATED LANE FOLLOWING
An operator offset request for automatic lane following system of an automobile vehicle includes an operator offset request defining a lateral offset distance away from a first travel-line of an automobile vehicle in a displacement path moved until a second travel-line of the automobile is achieved. An operator input setting system when actuated generates an initiation signal forwarded to a controller to input the operator offset request. An achievement signal is generated to signify a selected offset position selected by a vehicle operator for the offset distance is achieved. A vehicle return travel path is elected by the vehicle operator to return the automobile vehicle to the first travel-line from the second travel-line by a return displacement path which is opposite to the displacement path.
DRIVER MONITORING DEVICE AND DRIVER MONITORING METHOD
A driver monitoring device includes a detector that detects a posture of a driver in a driver's seat of a vehicle based on an image captured by an image capturing device, a determination controller that determines whether an irregular posture can impede the vehicle from traveling safely based on a condition concerning traveling of the vehicle acquired from the vehicle and the posture of the driver detected by the detector, and one or more notifiers that provide a notification concerning the irregular posture in accordance with a result of a determination made by the determination controller. The one or more notifiers refrain from providing the notification concerning the irregular posture when the result of the determination indicates that the irregular posture does not impede the vehicle from traveling safely.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETERMINING A LOCATION OF A USER RELATIVE TO A USER INTERFACE FOR CONTEXTUAL CONTROL
In at least one embodiment, a system is provided that includes a user interface, a plurality of proximity sensors, and at least one controller. The user interface is configured to enable selection of one or more operations for a vehicle. The plurality of proximity sensors is positioned about or within the user interface and is configured to transmit first signals indicative of a location of a user relative to the user interface as the user selects the one or more operations for the vehicle with the user interface. The at least one controller is configured to determine the location of the user relative to the user interface in response to the first signals and to transmit a vehicle control signal to a vehicle subsystem to perform the one or more operations based on the location of the user relative to the user interface.
DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device may include a display part, a sensor, an actuator, and a control device. The display part may include an operation surface on which a touch operation is performed by a user. The sensor may detect a displacement of the display part by the touch operation. The actuator may be configured to vibrate the display part. The control device may be configured to vibrate the display part with the actuator when the displacement of the display part by the touch operation is detected. The display part may be displaceable between a restriction position for restricting the displacement of the display part via the actuator and an allowance position for allowing the displacement of the display part via the actuator. The control device may be further configured to adjust the display part into the allowance position when a user operation for the touch operation is detected.
VEHICULAR DISPLAY DEVICE
A vehicular display device includes: an image display unit having a display screen capable of displaying an image at least in a part thereof; an image generation unit for generating the image to be displayed by the image display unit; and a projection unit for projecting the image toward a transparent windshield of a vehicle so that the image is reflected by the transparent windshield of the vehicle such that a user seated in the driver seat of the vehicle can view a virtual image. In accordance with a viewpoint position of the user, the image generation unit determines a length for display content in a use area of the display screen of the image display unit in a direction corresponding to a horizontal direction, the use area being an area used for displaying the image.
RECONFIGURABLE OPTICS FOR MULTI-PLANE HEADS-UP DISPLAYS
Embodiments are disclosed for display configurations for providing an augmented reality heads up display. In one example, a mirrorless heads up display device includes a display, at least one micro lens array, an optical element comprising a lenticular lens or parallax barrier positioned between the display and the at least one micro lens array, and a display controller comprising a processor and memory storing instructions executable by the processor to control the display to output image light that passes through the lenticular lens or parallax barrier and the at least one micro lens array and impinges on a transparent plane to form a three-dimensional image.
