METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANAGING INTERACTION BETWEEN A WEARABLE DEVICE AND A VEHICLE
Various aspects of a device and method to manage interaction with one or more control circuits in a vehicle and one or more wearable devices are disclosed herein. The device comprises one or more circuits configured to receive a first set of input values from the one or more wearable devices associated with a first user. The one or more wearable devices are communicatively coupled to the device used in the vehicle. A second set of input values is received from one or more vehicle sensors embedded in the vehicle. An operating mode of the device is determined based on the received first set of input values and the second set of input values. One or more functions of the vehicle are controlled based on the determined operating mode of the device.
SYSTEM FOR ENHANCING THE VISIBILITY OF A GROUND SURFACE ADJACENT TO A LAND VEHICLE
A system for enhancing the visibility of a ground surface adjacent to a land vehicle is provided. The system includes a mobile communication device, a hand-held communication device and control logic coupled to the mobile device and operative to determine if the hand-held device is an authorized device. An imaging assembly is supported on the vehicle to obtain an image of the ground surface. An image processor processes the image to detect an obstacle located on the ground surface. The control logic is operative to generate a display command signal. A display device is responsive to the signal to display in real time the detected obstacle or a welcome mat onto or adjacent the vehicle for enhanced viewing by an approaching pedestrian when the pedestrian carrying the authorized device is located within a predetermined range of the mobile device.
Display device
A display device may include a display part, a sensor, an actuator, and a control device. The display part may include an operation surface on which a touch operation is performed by a user. The sensor may detect a displacement of the display part by the touch operation. The actuator may be configured to vibrate the display part. The control device may be configured to vibrate the display part with the actuator when the displacement of the display part by the touch operation is detected. The display part may be displaceable between a restriction position for restricting the displacement of the display part via the actuator and an allowance position for allowing the displacement of the display part via the actuator. The control device may be further configured to adjust the display part into the allowance position when a user operation for the touch operation is detected.
TRANSPORT GAIT AND GESTURE INTERPRETATION
An example operation includes one or more of receiving, by a computer associated with a transport, a gait of an individual from at least one camera associated with the transport, validating, by the computer, the gait, receiving, by the computer, a gesture of the individual from the at least one camera, validating, by the computer, the gesture, and performing, by the computer, one or more functions based on the validated gait and the validated gesture.
Generation of Media Content for Transmission to a Device
A method can include receiving information associated with an individual. The information can include a destination and data corresponding to a past interaction between the individual and a system associated with a device. The method can further include determining an identity of the individual using the past interaction data when the individual has had a previous interaction with the system. Otherwise, the method can include determining a similar identity of the individual using past interaction data corresponding to another individual and the destination. The method can further include receiving context information. The context information can include: the identity or the similar identity; a time indication; and historical information associated with the identity or the similar identity and the destination. The method can further include generating media content based on the context information, and facilitating communication of the media content between the individual and the device.
Pupillated illumination apparatus
A switchable backlight for a switchable privacy display apparatus comprises a collimated waveguide, first and second light sources and an optical turning film comprising elongate prismatic elements with facet orientations that pupillate the output of the waveguide in two orthogonal directions for each of first and second light sources. High luminance uniformity is achieved for a head-on user in privacy and public viewing modes and high uniformity of security factor is achieved for off-axis snoopers, with increased speed of privacy switch-on in privacy mode.
TRANSPORT GAIT AND GESTURE INTERPRETATION
An example operation includes one or more of receiving, by a computer associated with a transport, a gait of an individual from at least one sensor associated with the transport, validating, by the computer, the gait when the gait has corresponding frequency occurrence statistics above a predetermined gait threshold, responsive to the validating, providing, by the computer, access to the transport by the individual, receiving, by the computer, a sequence of gestures of the individual from at the at least one sensor, wherein the sequence of gestures corresponds to a function, validating, by the computer, the sequence of gestures, and responsive to the validating, performing, by the computer, the function responsive to the sequence of gestures being recognized as a known match with a pattern stored in memory.
Virtual image display device
A virtual image display device includes: an image projection unit that selectively projects a first projection light linearly polarized in a first direction and a second projection light linearly polarized in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction to a windshield; a reflected light measurement unit that measures an intensity of light incident from the windshield into the image projection unit along a light path in which the first projection light and the second projection light are projected; and a determination unit that determine whether a user is wearing polarized sunglasses that shield a component linearly polarized in the first direction, based on a first light intensity measured by the reflected light measurement unit when the first projection light is projected and a second light intensity measured by the reflected light measurement unit when the second projection light is projected.
Redundant-Controls System For An Automated Vehicle
A redundant-controls system suitable for use an automated vehicle includes a primary-control-device, a secondary-control-device, an occupant-detection-device, and a controller. The primary-control-device is installed in a vehicle. The primary-control-device is selectively enabled to allow operation from an operator-seat of the vehicle by an operator of the vehicle to control movement of the vehicle. The secondary-control-device is installed in the vehicle. The secondary-control-device is selectively enabled to allow operation from a passenger-seat of the vehicle by a passenger of the vehicle to control movement of the vehicle. The occupant-detection-device is used to determine an operator-state-of-awareness of the operator and a passenger-state-of-awareness of the passenger. The controller is in communication with the primary-control-device, the secondary-control-device, and the operator-detection-device. The controller is configured to selectively enable the secondary-control-device to override the primary-control-device when the passenger-state-of-awareness indicates greater awareness than the operator-state-of-awareness.
AUTOMATED/SMART CREATION DISPLAY OF VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER AND OTHER OWNER INFORMATION VIA INFOTAINMENT DISPLAY
A vehicle includes a memory device storing information identifying the vehicle. An infotainment user interface includes a display screen, a keyboard, and an electronic processing device communicatively coupled to the memory device. The electronic processing device responds to a user keying in a set of predefined characters into the keyboard by displaying on the display screen the information identifying the vehicle.
