Electronic park brake interface module, park brake controller and system

Various examples of park brake interface modules which are utilized as human machine interfaces (HMI) in vehicles are provided. In one example, a park brake interface module for a vehicle includes a park brake switch device to actuate the park brake. The park brake switch device is capable of actuating the vehicle park brake in a brake apply mode upon receipt of a pinch signal. In another example, the park brake interface module includes a park brake switch device which is capable of actuating the vehicle park brake in a brake release mode upon receipt of a reach signal. In a further example, the park brake interface module includes recessed fixed parking brake actuation switches. In operation, the electronic interface module and park brake switch devices allow the operator to apply or release the vehicle park brakes according to memorable mnemonics, for example, “pinch to park” and “reach to release.”

OPERATING DEVICE FOR A VEHICLE

The operating device (10) for a vehicle is provided with a housing (12) having a front wall (14). At least one operating element (18) is arranged on the front wall (14) and can be manually actuated starting from a rest position for the purpose of entering a command or activating a function. The operating element (18) is associated with a switch (32) having a switching member (36) on which the operating key acts during manual operation. Furthermore, a support element (24) is arranged in the housing (12) at a distance from the operating element (18), on which support element (24) the switch (32) associated with the operating element (18) is arranged, the support element (24) having a bending bar (40) with an upper side (42) facing the operating element (18) and a lower side (44) facing away from the upper side (42), and the switch (32) being arranged on the bending bar. Finally, the operating device (10) is provided with an adjustment member (46) acting on the bending bar (40) for adjusting the bending position of the bending bar (40) relative to the operating element (18) in its resting position and for maintaining and thus stabilizing the bending bar (40) in its adjusted bending position when the operating element (18) acts on the switching member (36). The adjustment member (46) comprises a threaded sleeve (54) with an internal thread (56) and a self-tapping adjustment screw (48) with a threaded shaft (50), wherein the internal thread (56) of the threaded sleeve (54) and the external thread (52) of the threaded shaft (50) of the self-tapping adjustment screw (48) have the same or substantially the same pitch.

An integrated control apparatus for an autonomous driving vehicle is provided. The integrated control apparatus includes a one-hand operation device that a user holds and operates with one hand a two-hand operation device that a user holds and operates with both hand. In the one-hand operation device, a deadman switch is disposed on the front of a grip of the housing under an acceleration trigger switch. In the two-hand operation device, a deadman switch is disposed on the bottom portion of the housing under an acceleration button switch and a brake button switch.

The setting positions include a home position, a position for wiper operation up adjustment and a position for wiper operation down adjustment. The detent mechanism includes a mechanism to return the operating lever to the home position from the position for wiper operation up adjustment or the position for wiper operation down adjustment.
