Disclosed is a gauze for topical application on a target area. The gauze comprises a fabric layer having a first side and a second side opposite to the first side, wherein the first side is arranged to face the target area; a lubricant layer applied on the first side of the fabric layer; and a peelable protective layer arranged on the lubricant layer and another peelable protective layer arranged on the second side of the fabric layer. Disclosed also is a gauze for post-operative care of a circumcision wound. Disclosed further is a package comprising a plurality of gauzes, wherein each of the plurality of gauzes is discretely wrapped in a wrapper.
ABSORBENT SANITARY ARTICLE FOR BODY FLUID
An absorbent sanitary article for absorbing a wet electrolytic or body fluid comprising, an outer material, which can comprise an absorbent low lint material, and a substrate material having a substrate surface and a reducing agent joined with the substrate material. A second substrate material can have a second substrate surface and an oxidizing agent joined with the second substrate material. Optionally at the second substrate surface, wherein the reducing agent and the oxidizing agent can be exposed to the wet electrolytic or body fluid during at least a portion of the time the absorbent sanitary article is in use.
Hemostatic textile
The present invention is directed to a hemostatic textile, comprising: a material comprising a combination of glass fibers and one or more secondary fibers selected from the group consisting of silk fibers; ceramic fibers; raw or regenerated bamboo fibers; cotton fibers; rayon fibers; linen fibers; ramie fibers; jute fibers; sisal fibers; flax fibers; soybean fibers; corn fibers; hemp fibers; lyocel fibers; wool; lactide and/or glycolide polymers; lactide/glycolide copolymers; silicate fibers; polyimide fibers; feldspar fibers; zeolite fibers, zeolite-containing fibers, acetate fibers; and combinations thereof; the hemostatic textile capable of activating hemostatic systems in the body when applied to a wound. Additional cofactors such as thrombin and hemostatic agents such as RL platelets, RL blood cells; fibrin, fibrinogen, and combinations thereof may also be incorporated into the textile. The invention is also directed to methods of producing the textile, and methods of using the textile to stop bleeding.
BLENDED POLYVINYL ALCOHOL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS
The invention provides biocompatible polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) matrices, composed of blends of differently hydrolyzed PVAs. The PVA matrices may be formed into controlled release formulations, for example for topical drug delivery.
Negative pressure wound therapy apparatus
Disclosed embodiments relate to apparatuses and methods for wound treatment. In certain embodiments, a negative pressure wound therapy apparatus can include a spacer layer with an upper portion and a lower portion. The spacer layer can be configured to be wrapped around at least one edge of the absorbent layer with the upper portion of the spacer layer being above the absorbent layer and the lower portion of the spacer layer being below the absorbent layer. In some embodiments, a negative pressure wound therapy apparatus can include a first and second spacer layer and an absorbent layer. The first spacer layer can be positioned below the absorbent layer and the first spacer layer can have a perimeter larger than a perimeter of the absorbent layer. The second spacer layer can be positioned above the absorbent layer. The second spacer layer can have a perimeter larger than the perimeter of the absorbent layer.
Multi-layer abdominal closure dressing with instillation capabilities
A treatment system for applying negative pressure therapy and fluid instillation treatment to a tissue site, particularly an abdominal tissue site, is disclosed. In some embodiments, the treatment system may include a dressing member, a plurality of fluid removal pathways, a fluid instillation matrix, a drape, a negative-pressure source, and a fluid instillation source. Instillation fluid may be delivered from the fluid instillation source to the tissue site through the fluid instillation matrix, and negative pressure may be communicated and fluid withdrawn from the tissue site through the plurality of fluid removal pathways.
MOISTURIZING FACILITATING FOOT COVERING ASSEMBLY
A moisturizing facilitating foot covering assembly includes a sleeve of cloth material to be positioned on and cover a person's foot. The sleeve includes a bottom wall and a perimeter wall that is attached to and extends upwardly from the bottom wall. The perimeter wall includes a heel end, a toe end, a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge. A top wall is attached to the perimeter wall. The top wall has a foot opening therein positioned adjacent to the heel end. The cloth material is air and fluid permeable. A coating is positioned on an interior surface of the sleeve. The coating is flexible as well as air and fluid impermeable. The top wall is free of the coating. The coating prevents the sleeve from absorbing any moisturization composition positioned on a lower surface of the person's foot.
WOUND DRESSINGS INCLUDING PVP-CITRIC ACID COPOLYMER
Dressings which may be useful in disrupting and/or preventing biofilm formation in a wound upon application are described, where the dressings of the present technology include a co-polymer of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and citric acid. Also disclosed herein methods employing such dressings as well as kits including such dressings.
ABSORBENT INSERTS FOR TOOTH CAVITIES
An absorbent insert of compressed matrix of absorbent material, including a filler dispersed therein to improve stiffness/rigidity of the insert and controls the absorbency of the compressed absorbent material. The insert is pre-shaped and sized for inserting into a tooth cavity, such as a pulp chamber or a root canal space. The compressed insert expands or swells upon absorbing fluid within the tooth cavity, so as to more completely dry the tooth cavity. The absorbent insert also serves as a substrate of an applicator for medical agent to be applied to a tooth cavity. The absorbent insert is provided (e.g., coated or impregnated) with a medical agent, which medical agent is released into the tooth cavity as the absorbent material absorbs fluid in the tooth cavity.
Mucoadhesive Patch and Uses Thereof
The present invention provides a mucoadhesive patch for attachment to a mucosal surface in a patient, the patch comprising a fibrous polymeric mat substrate and a plurality of polymeric flock particles that are attached to the substrate.
