20190144024 · 2019-05-16 ·

A method for securing a level crossing permits timely securing of the level crossing and is particularly effective and reliable. The method proceeds in such a way that vehicle data are received from a track-bound vehicle approaching the level crossing by a stationary control device of a train control system. The vehicle data include at least the current position and the current speed of the track-bound vehicle. A strike-in point is determined on the basis of the received vehicle data and route data including at least the location of the level crossing. Securing of the level crossing is triggered when the strike-in point is reached. A stationary control device for a train control system and an arrangement having such a stationary control device are also provided.

Antenna arrangement and rail vehicle having a plurality of antennas
12046825 · 2024-07-23 · ·

An antenna arrangement for the mobile communication of a rail vehicle and a rail vehicle with an antenna arrangement of the type. The antenna arrangement has at least two transmitting antennas and at least two receiving antennas. The transmitting antennas are spatially grouped in a transmitting group and the receiving antennas are spatially grouped in a receiving group. The distances between the transmitting antennas and between the receiving antennas is smaller than the overall distance between the transmitting group and the receiving group. The antennas can thereby be arranged in a much more space-saving fashion on the vehicles because large distances have to be provided only between the groups, not between the antennas within the groups. Where the space needed is low, interference-free operation of the antennas is thus advantageously possible.

A train safety assembly has an onboard apparatus of a first train safety system and a specific transmission device for transmission with a trackside part of a second train safety system. The onboard apparatus is started using a version of a first software and the specific transmission device is started using a version of a second software. The versions of the first and second software are checked for their compatibility. In order to be able to provide the train safety assembly for use on a track section, which is equipped with the trackside part of the second train safety system, and to put same into operation in a faster and more cost-efficient manner, if the started versions of the first and second software are incompatible, the transmission device is automatically restarted with another version of the second software, and the started first and second software are checked for their compatibility.

METHOD FOR SAFE SUPERVISION OF TRAIN INTEGRITY AND USE OF ON-BOARD UNITS OF AN AUTOMATIC TRAIN PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR SUPERVISION TRAIN INTEGRITY

A method for safe supervising train integrity includes: (a) acquiring first position data of the first carriage via a first tracking unit which is installed on-board of a first carriage and acquiring second position data of a second carriage via a second tracking unit which is installed on-board of the second carriage, wherein the position data is related to a rail route coordinate system; (b) determining a deviation between a reference value which depends on the length of the train and a position value which depends on position data of at least one of the tracking units; (c) detecting whether train integrity is given by analyzing the deviation; (d) repeating steps a) through c); wherein the tracking units are part of on-board units of an automatic train protection system. Thus a cost-efficient method for supervising train integrity which complies with safety level SIL4 can be realized.

Operation of a rail vehicle by means of an ETCS device

A method for operating a rail vehicle includes, at least to some extent, using a secondary ETCS device which travels along with the rail vehicle but is not used for its operation, if a fault occurs in a primary ETCS device. A secondary EVC takes over the role of a primary EVC and, in many applications, at least some train control functions. The advantage is that train control can, at least in some fault cases, be continued in an automated way in the case of a failure of a component of the primary ETCS device. A rail vehicle and an apparatus for the operation of a rail vehicle are also provided.

METHOD FOR SAFELY OPERATING A RAIL TRAFFIC SYSTEM AND RAIL TRAFFIC SYSTEM

A method for safely operating a rail traffic system, comprising the steps: comprising first rail traffic information correlating with a state variable of the rail traffic system, transmitting second rail traffic information correlating with the state variable of the rail traffic system between a first rail vehicle and an infrastructure facility and/or a second rail vehicle, determining a comparison result using the first rail traffic information and the second rail traffic information, checking the plausibility of the first rail traffic information and/or the second rail traffic information using the comparison result, and controlling the rail traffic system using the result of the plausibility check.

CONTROL ARRANGEMENT FOR A VEHICLE
20180170412 · 2018-06-21 ·

A control arrangement for a vehicle, in particular a rail vehicle, includes an operational control system which has at least one central control unit, a set of decentralized sub-system controllers and a control network to which the control unit and the sub-system controllers are connected. In order to ensure that the control satisfies high safety requirements, the control arrangement has an operational control module which is different from the control unit, is connected to the control network and has a data connection unit which is different from the control network and by which the operational control module is connected by data technology to the sub-system controllers. A vehicle having the control arrangement and an operational control module forming the control arrangement in cooperation with an operational control system, are also provided.

Rail vehicle comprising a tachometer-speed display device, and a method for operating such a rail vehicle

A rail vehicle has a tachometer-speed display device and an European train control system speed display device. In order to easily avoid the speed being read incorrectly by the vehicle driver in such a rail vehicle, the glass cover of the tachometer-speed display device is an electro chrome glass pane that contains an electrical connection device. A method also operates a rail vehicle which contains such a tachometer-speed display device.

Degradation management method for versatile signal system, device and medium

A disclosure relates to a degradation management method for a versatile signal system, a device and a medium. The versatile signal system supports both the CTCS system for the national railway and the CBTC system for the urban railway; the method controls the safety of trains equipped with the CTCS system or the CBTC system on the same line, and effectively conducts degraded operation management; and the management method comprises switching between normal operation modes of the CTCS system and the CBTC system, switching between degraded operation modes, and switching between normal operation modes and degraded operation modes in a shared area. Compared with the prior art, the disclosure has the advantage that effective degradation operation mode management on trains running on a line under a CTCS+CBTC signal system is realized.
