Sensor device and electric power steering apparatus using same
A sensor device includes a sensor section having a plurality of sensor elements sensing a physical quantity regarding a magnetic flux collecting module, an output circuit generating and outputting an output signal including data signals respectively corresponding to sensing values from the sensor elements, and an ECU obtaining the output signal. The ECU includes an abnormality determiner identifying an abnormal sensor element. When at least two of the plurality of sensor sections respectively have at least one normal sensor element, a sub-sensor section transmits the output signal therefrom to the ECU at a shifted output timing from an output timing of the output signal from a main sensor section. The amount of such a shift of the output timing is shorter than one signal cycle of the output signal.
Steering controller
Provided is a steering controller configured to switch from an interruption state to a transmission state. In a state where power transmission from the steering wheel to steered wheels is interrupted, a maximum value selection processing circuit outputs a maximum value, out of a steered angle and a steering angle, to a limiting reaction force setting processing circuit. When the absolute value of the maximum value has become equal to or larger than a limitation start threshold value, the limiting reaction force setting processing circuit rapidly increases a limiting reaction force. An operation signal generation processing circuit controls a reaction-force motor to achieve a reaction force command value corresponding to the limiting reaction force. When the absolute value of the maximum value has become equal to or larger than an engagement threshold value, a clutch is engaged to transmit reaction force from the steered wheel-side to the steering wheel.
STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
A steering column assembly for a vehicle includes a housing, a shaft, a first gear, first and second motors. The shaft is rotatably mounted with respect to the housing and is configured for attachment of a steering wheel at one end. The first gear is connected to and configured to rotate with the shaft. Each of the first and second motors have an output driving a respective output gear. The output gears are engaged with the first gear, and there being control means configured to operate the motors in a first mode in which the motors apply torque to the first gear in opposite directions and a second mode in which the motors apply torque to the first gear in the same direction.
ADJUSTING DEVICE FOR A CHASSIS OF A MOTOR VEHICLE AND REAR-AXLE STEERING SYSTEM

The piston can comprise: a body; and a footing; the footing positioned adjacent an end of the body, and having a recess that receives a central portion of the end; during operation of the brake system, the footing extends along a brake pad, and is configured to exert force on the brake pad during actuation of the disk brake system; and the footing having a face configured to contact the brake pad, the face having a length and a width, wherein the length is longer than an outside width of the body, and the length is greater than the width, and/or the face having a cross-sectional area normal to a direction of travel of the piston that is larger than a cross-sectional area of the piston body that is normal to the direction of travel of the piston.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CALCULATING ABSOLUTE ANGULAR POSITION FOR CONTROLLING VEHICLE STEERING SYSTEM
A vehicle steering system comprises: a motor assembly operably coupled to a steering rack, the motor assembly comprising a motor having a rotor and a motor position sensor configured to sense a rotor angle of the motor in a single-turn range; and a rotary-to-linear conversion mechanism operably coupled between the motor assembly and the steering rack, the rotary-to-linear conversion mechanism comprising a rotor operably coupled to the rotor of the motor. A processor calculates an absolute angular position of the pinion in a full-turn range of rotation of the pinion based on the sensed rotor angle of the motor and a pinion angle sensed by a pinion angle sensor in a single-turn range, or based on the sensed rotor angle of the motor and an angle of the rotor of the rotary-to-linear conversion mechanism sensed by an angular position sensor in the single-turn range.
