A dynamic vibration absorber for reducing steering wheel vibration. The vibration absorber includes a resilient member that includes a resilient member inner surface that defines a center cavity that is configured to receive a steering column of a vehicle that generates vibration that is transferred to a steering wheel via the steering column, the center cavity being substantially coaxial with the steering column when attached thereto. The resilient member includes at least one resilient member outer surface that defines a resilient member outer diameter. The vibration absorber includes a rigid body that engages and is supported by the resilient member and that includes six degrees of freedom of movement relative to the steering column, the rigid body including a rigid body inner surface that defines a rigid body center cavity.

STEERING WHEEL STRUCTURE

A steering wheel structure includes: a guide member (30) that is formed into a tubular shape, and attached to a mounting hole (12a) formed in a mounting plate (12) of an airbag module (10); a hook member (2) that is formed in a steering wheel (1), and is inserted into the guide member (30); a damper rubber (20) that is interposed between an edge portion of the mounting hole (12a) in the mounting plate (12), and the guide member (30); and a lock spring (40) that is attached to the guide member (30). The lock spring (40) is engaged with the hook member (2) inserted into the guide member (30) so as to prevent the hook member (2) from coming-off from the guide member (30).

VIBRATION ABSORBER RING AND AIRBAG MODULE WITH SUCH A VIBRATION ABSORBER RING

The invention relates to a vibration absorber ring (10) for fastening a gas generator (12) to a vehicle steering wheel (14), in a manner capable of vibrating, with a ring axis (A), a support portion (18) for fastening the vibration absorber ring (10) to a holding element, and an absorber portion (22) for fastening the gas generator (16) to the vibration absorber ring (10), wherein an elastic damping element (24) is provided, which extends in the axial direction from the absorber portion (22) towards a free end (26) and, between the absorber portion (22) and the free end (26), has a fastening element (28) for the gas generator (12), wherein the support portion (18) and the absorber portion (22) are spaced apart from each other in the axial direction.

INTEGRATED STEERING WHEEL, VIBRATION ABSORBER, AND DRIVER AIRBAG

A steering wheel assembly (10) contains a dampening system for mitigating vibrations transferred from a vehicle to the steering wheel assembly (10). A plurality of damper spring elements or grommets or damper spring elements (22) are each retained within a corresponding steering wheel support member (330). An air bag module (14) is fixed to a steering wheel (18) while resting upon the damper spring elements (22) for eliminating and/or reducing lateral displacement/vibrations normally attendant to vehicle operation. A horn switch (16) containing a plurality of annular support members (76, 176) may be positioned over the damper spring elements (22), wherein each annular support member (76, 176) is coaxially aligned and positioned over a corresponding grommet (22) to also manage vertical displacement; the air bag module (14) is then fixed over the horn switch 16 and to the steering wheel (18). Movement of the airbag module can actuate the horn switch.

VEHICULAR STEERING WHEEL

A vehicular steering wheel may include a wheel hub coupled to a center portion of the steering wheel and connected to a steering shaft; a damper plate mounted on the wheel hub to overlap the wheel hub and configured to fasten an airbag module thereto; and an elastic fastener configured to connect the wheel hub and the damper plate to provide an elastic force to the damper plate.

A damper structure provided in a steering wheel of a vehicle to be able to achieve an improved effect of reducing vibration in a low frequency region and structurally prevent noise generation. The damper structure includes a plate member which faces the steering wheel and to which an airbag module is to be attached, an insulator attached to the plate member, a connector inserted into the insulator and having one end fixed to the steering wheel to be oscillated by vibration of the steering wheel, an elastic member surrounding the connector in the insulator, a ring provided with the elastic member to transmit the oscillation of the connector to the elastic member, a stopper provided around another end of the connector to face the elastic member, and a coil spring which brings the elastic member of the insulator into pressure contact with the stopper.

The present disclosure provides a steering wheel vibration reduction apparatus including: a vibration torque signal detector that detects a vibration torque signal according to a torque generated in accordance with vibrations of a steering wheel; a wheel frequency recognizer that detects a frequency of the vibration torque signal and, if the frequency corresponds to a wheel frequency condition set in advance and recognizes the frequency as the wheel frequency; and a vibration reduction torque signal generator that generates a vibration reduction torque signal using the wheel frequency and controls the motor such that a torque for reducing the vibrations of the steering wheel is generated by the motor and a steering wheel vibration reduction method.
