[Problem] An object of the present invention is to provide an electric power steering apparatus capable of smoothly switching the control systems without self-steer by gradually changing a control torque of the torque control and a command value of the position/speed control upon fade processing that switches the control systems.

[Means for Solving the Problem] The present invention is the electric power steering apparatus including a torque sensor to detect a steering torque and a motor control unit to control a motor that applies an assist torque to a steering system of a vehicle, comprising: a function to switch a control system of the motor between a torque control system of a torque system to control a motor output torque and a position/speed control system of a steering angle system to control a steering angle of a steering in accordance with a predetermined switching trigger, wherein each of a steering angle command value and a steering angle speed of the position/speed control system and an assist torque level of the torque control system gradually change sensitive to the steering torque, when shifting from the torque control system to the position/speed control system or vice versa.

TARGET-BASED TRAILER BACKUP COLLISION MITIGATION

A backup assist system for a vehicle and trailer combination includes a vehicle steering system, a camera generating images of the trailer, and a controller. The controller processes sequential images the trailer, selects a baseline image, and determines a collision angle based on a location of a feature of the trailer in the baseline image. The controller further controls the steering system to maintain a hitch angle below a lesser of a maximum controllable angle and the collision angle.

Also included is an alternate steering mechanism controlling steering of the autonomous vehicle in a secondary steering mode, wherein the alternate steering mechanism is not a steering wheel.

METHOD, DEVICE AND COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM FOR PARKING A SELF-BALANCING VEHICLE

A method, device and computer-readable storage medium are provided for parking a self-balancing vehicle. The method includes: determining whether there is a target parking spot for parking a self-balancing vehicle when the self-balancing vehicle needs to be parked; controlling, when there is a target parking spot for parking the self-balancing vehicle, the self-balancing vehicle to park at the target parking spot.

Vehicular vision system with center stack display and mirror display for surround view and CMS cameras

A vehicular display system includes an electronic control unit (ECU), a plurality of bird's eye surround view cameras and a plurality of camera monitoring system (CMS) cameras disposed at the vehicle. The cameras capture image data and provide captured image data to the ECU. The system includes a video display screen and a video mirror display screen that are operable to display video images derived from video images provided by the ECU. When the vehicle is traveling forward at a speed below a threshold speed, the ECU generates rearward view video images derived from image data captured by the CMS cameras and provides the rearward view video images to the video display screen. When the vehicle is traveling forward at a speed at or above the threshold speed, the ECU generates rearward view video images and provides the rearward view video images to the video mirror display screen.
