Battery pillar protector
A system for reducing the likelihood of a battery short during a collision of a vehicle includes a metallic structure coupled to a portion of the vehicle. The system further includes a battery located proximate to the metallic structure and having a positive terminal. The system further includes an insulator coupled to the metallic structure such that it is located between the metallic structure and the positive terminal of the battery and configured to resist contact between the metallic structure and the positive terminal of the battery in response to the collision of the vehicle.
WOOD-PLASTIC HYBRID COMPONENT FOR USE IN A MOTOR VEHICLE
Wood-plastic hybrid component for use in a motor vehicle having a multi-component structure including a wood subsection, at least one water-impermeable plastic coating, arranged directly on the wood subsection for protecting the wood subsection, and a plastic subsection. The water-impermeable plastic coating is at least partially directly adjacent to the plastic subsection.
Rear vehicle-body structure of vehicle
A rear vehicle-body structure for suppressing deformation of a corner portion of a lift gate opening is provided, including a pair of left and right inner wheel wells having damper supports; and a framework member on a rear side of the inner wheel wells forming an opening edge of a back door opening. The framework member includes a header extending in a vehicle width direction forming an upper end edge of the back door opening; and pillars extending from the header to a vehicle lower side via corner portions of the back door opening. A pair of gussets connect rear portions of the inner wheel wells and the pillars to each other; a pair of connecting members connect the rear portions of the inner wheel wells and places near the corner portions to each other; and the gussets and the connecting members are joined at places near the damper supports.
Clamshell structural reinforcement
A structural reinforcement, utilized to reinforce a structural joint of a vehicle, and method of reinforcing a structural joint of a vehicle. The structural reinforcement having a clamshell structure comprising two complimentary halves. The structural reinforcement further comprising an activatable composition.
Vehicle body
The vehicle body includes: a pair of left and right rear side members extending in a front-rear direction of the vehicle body, and a rear bumper beam which extends in a left-right direction of the vehicle body to be coupled to each rear side member at both ends, and bulges rearward toward a center of the left-right direction. The rear bumper beam has an intermediate body extending in the left-right direction at the center of the left-right direction, and inclined bodies which are displaced forward as expanding to the left and right toward the respectively corresponding rear side member from both ends of the intermediate body. A rearward surface of the intermediate body includes a vertical surface, and an inclined surface which is continuous from at least either an upper end or a lower end of the vertical surface and is displaced forward as separating from the vertical surface.
VEHICLE REAR STRUCTURE
This vehicle rear structure includes a rear floor pan, rear side frames each provided on an outer side of the rear floor pan in a vehicle width direction, and a cross portion configured to connect the rear side frames provided on both sides in the vehicle width direction, and the cross portion has a cross ridge portion provided in front of the rear floor pan and extending in the vehicle width direction, and an extension member having a first end portion connected to the cross ridge portion and a second end portion disposed at a side opposite to the first end portion in the vehicle width direction and connected to the rear side frames.
VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE
A vehicle body structure defines a vehicle longitudinal direction and a vehicle lateral direction perpendicular to the vehicle longitudinal direction and includes a rear sill structure. The rear sill assembly at least partially defines a rear opening of the vehicle body structure. The rear sill assembly extends in the vehicle lateral direction. The rear sill assembly includes a first body panel and a second body panel. The first body panel extends from a first side of the rear opening to a second side of the rear opening. The second body panel overlays a portion of the first body panel. The second body panel has a main section that includes a plurality of recessed rib portions that extend in directions that define an acute angle relative to the vehicle longitudinal direction.
Cargo Hold Arrangement for a Front Chamber of a Motor Vehicle That Can be Closed by a Front Bonnet
A cargo hold arrangement of a front chamber of a motor vehicle that is closable by a front bonnet includes a cargo hold box with a cargo hold and a cover. The cargo hold box is closed by the cover when the cover is disposed in a closed position below the front bonnet. The cover is movable downwards in relation to the cargo hold box in a vertical direction of the cargo hold box in an event of an accident of the motor vehicle. The cover is smaller in relation to a clear cross-section of the cargo hold box such that the cover is movable downwards in a vertical direction of the motor vehicle into the cargo hold of the cargo hold box in the event of the accident.
Component tray assembly for vehicles
A component tray assembly for a vehicle. For example, the component tray assembly may be installed between a body of the vehicle and a seat bulkhead of the vehicle. The component tray assembly may include at least a component shelf, a cover disposed over the component shelf, and one or more components. In some examples, the component shelf includes three openings and the one or more components include three speakers respectively disposed within the openings. The component shelf may further include notches located proximate to the side of the component shelf where the component shelf attaches to the seat bulkhead. The positions and shapes of the openings and the notches may create a weakened region of the component shelf that is configured to deform the component tray assembly during a collision. By deforming, the component tray assembly is configured to minimize the amount of force that is imparted to the seat.
REAR VEHICLE BODY STRUCTURE
A rear vehicle body structure includes two opposite rear side members to which wheelhouse panels are respectively coupled and spring seats positioned respectively at lower sides of the two opposite rear side members.
