OPENWORK STRUCTURAL ELEMENT FOR DASHBOARD, ASSOCIATED CROSSMEMBER AND CORRESPONDING DASHBOARD
20230072338 · 2023-03-09 · ·

A structural element forms a motor vehicle dashboard body that is intended to be installed in a transverse installation position inside a vehicle passenger compartment. The structural element has a one-piece openwork structure produced by three-dimensional printing. The openwork structure defines: a first internal passage that passes all the way through the structural element and extends transversely when the structural element is in the installation position. The first passage is shaped so as to receive a crossmember that is in particular bent with a constant radius of curvature and having at least two fastening elements that are intended to be fastened to the crossmember. A second internal passage connects the first passage to a face of the structural element that is directed toward the rear of the vehicle when the structural element is in the installation position. The second passage has at least one fastening element that is intended to fasten a steering column fastening support.

Method for Filling a Multi-Chamber Profile with Foam, Body and Motor Vehicle

A method for filling a multi-chamber profile with foam includes providing the multi-chamber profile, which is a closed hollow chamber profile with at least two chambers, where an inner wall is disposed between two chambers of the at least two chambers which are arranged directly on each other, where the inner wall separates the two chambers from each other, and where a first one of the two chambers has a foam inlet. The method further includes forming an opening in the inner wall where the opening connects the two chambers and introducing a flowable foam material via the foam inlet into the first one of the two chambers such that the foam material is distributed within the first one of the two chambers and is introduced via the opening into a second one of the two chambers.

The present teachings generally relate to a carrier and method of making the carrier, the carrier comprising: a periphery having: an outer edge, arranged distally along a transverse axis of the carrier, configured to be oriented away from a frame enclosure of a vehicle, an inner edge, arranged distally along the transverse axis, configured to be oriented toward the frame enclosure of the vehicle, and distal ends arranged opposite each other along a longitudinal axis of the carrier; one or more series of ribs having: a cross-sectional pattern, and an orientation along the longitudinal axis, the transverse axis, or both.

Opaque laminated vehicle roof with panoramic glazed appearance

The laminated glass panoramic roof is a popular although expensive option offered on a growing number of automobiles. Much of its appeal comes from the sleek modern appearance that it gives to the vehicle. The opaque laminated vehicle roof, by removing vision and optical requirements can be produced at a lower cost. The opaque laminated roof, by retaining a glass outer surface, maintains the same exterior appearance, aesthetic and much of the appeal of a conventional laminated glass panoramic roof. The opaque laminated vehicle roof also allows for the use of alternate materials which can further reduce cost and weight while adding additional features such as installation hardware, fasteners, lighting, antennas and solar cells to the roof.

Outer Skin Component for a Motor Vehicle and Method for Producing an Outer Skin Component

An outer skin component for a motor vehicle is designed as a shell component with an outer shell and an inner shell, which are in each case designed as fiber-reinforced plastics shells with a fiber reinforcement embedded into a thermosetting plastic matrix. The fiber reinforcement of the outer shell consists of one or more layers of nonwoven material.

Resin roof

A resin roof is provided with a main roof and a sub-roof. The main roof includes an outer layer fabricated of resin, which structures a roof panel of a vehicle, and an inner layer fabricated of foam resin, which is provided in a predetermined region that excludes a peripheral edge portion of the outer layer. The sub-roof is fabricated of resin and provided at a vehicle body side. In plan view, the sub-roof is provided between a left and right pair of roof side rails of the vehicle. A joining portion at the peripheral edge portion of the outer layer is joined to the sub-roof. Thus, together with the outer layer, the sub-roof structures the roof panel.
