Embodiments of golf club heads with energy storage characteristics are presented herein. In some embodiments, a golf club head comprises a hollow body comprising a strikeface, a heel region, a toe region opposite the heel region, a sole, a top rail and an inflection point. The inflection point provides increase bending of the strikeface thereby providing performance enhancement over clubs without an inflection point.
Golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads
Embodiments of golf club heads, golf clubs, and methods to manufacture golf club heads and golf clubs are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion having an interior cavity and a front portion. A face portion is attached to the front portion of the body portion to enclose the interior cavity. The golf club head may further include a first filler material coupled to a portion of an inner wall of the body portion, and a second filler material between the first filler material and the face portion and coupled to the face portion. The first filler material has a greater coefficient of restitution (COR) than the second filler material, and the second filler material has a greater stiffness than the first filler material. A golf club head including a striking face, a periphery portion surrounding and extending rearwards from the striking face, a support arm spaced from the rear surface of the striking face, the support arm extending from the periphery portion, wherein the support arm is affixed to the periphery portion at two distinct locations, a damping element residing between the support arm and the rear surface of the striking face, wherein the damping element comprises a front surface in contact with the rear surface of the striking face and a rear surface in contact with the support arm, wherein the support arm comprises a cradle abutting the damping element, a first portion extending from the back portion towards the cradle, and a second portion extending from the topline towards the cradle.
BAT HAVING AT LEAST ONE DISC ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE BAT BARREL
A ball bat includes at least one disc member in the bat barrel. The at least one disc member may include at least one solid disc member or at least one non-solid disc member with an opening, or both. The outer perimeters of the disc members may optionally be separated from the inner wall of the ball bat by a buffer layer, such as a layer of open-cell foam or adhesive. In some embodiments, the ball bat may further include at least one positioning member, such as an insulation foam member. The at least one positioning member may be located between two disc members, and multiple positioning members may optionally be arranged in alternating fashion with disc members within the bat. The at least one positioning member may be an insulation foam member having a hollow center portion.
MULTI-COMPONENT GOLF CLUB HEAD WITH TUNING ELEMENT
Embodiments of a multi-material wood-type golf club head comprising a tuning element to damp dominant vibrations are described herein. The multi-material wood-type club head comprises a first, metallic component forming the striking face, and portions of the crown, the heel, the toe, and sole, and a second, non-metallic component forming a majority of the crown and portions of the heel, toe, and sole. The club head further comprises a tuning element secured to the interior surface of the crown, wherein the tuning element damps the amplitude vibration at a vibration hotspot in the club head by between 1-7 decibels.

Embodiments of golf club heads, golf clubs, and methods to manufacture golf club heads and golf clubs are generally described herein. In one example, a golf club head may include a body portion made from a first material with a first density and having an interior cavity, a toe portion with a toe portion edge, a heel portion with a heel portion edge, a front portion, a back portion with a back wall portion including a back opening portion, a top portion with a top portion edge, and a sole portion with a sole portion edge. A back cover portion made from second material with a second density different from the first density is coupled to the body portion to close the back opening portion. The back cover portion includes a port extending through the back cover portion. A filler material is injected into the interior cavity from the port. A mass portion is inserted into the port to close the port. The mass portion made from a third material with a second density greater than the first density. GOLF CLUB HEADS AND METHODS TO MANUFACTURE GOLF CLUB HEADS
Embodiments of golf club heads and methods to manufacture golf club heads are generally described herein. In one example, an iron-type golf club head may include a hollow body portion having a toe portion, a heel portion, a top portion, a sole portion, a front portion, and a back portion. The back portion may have an upper back wall, a lower back wall, and a ledge portion connecting the upper back wall to the lower back wall. The golf club head may include an interior cavity in the hollow body portion and an elastic polymer material in the interior cavity. The interior cavity may have a maximum cavity width proximate to the ledge portion. The hollow body portion may include a first port located in the upper back wall and a second port located in the lower back wall. Other examples and embodiments may be described and claimed.
Golf club head with a body-conforming weight member
A golf club head includes a main body having a top portion, a bottom portion, a striking face, and an interior surface. A weight member is coupled to the interior surface of the main body. In an imaginary vertical plane that passes through the weight member, the interior surface of the main body comprises a first point and a second point. An imaginary line passes through the first point and the second point. A first imaginary boundary line and a second imaginary boundary line, both passing through the weight member and being perpendicular to the imaginary line, pass through the first point and the second point, respectively. Between the first point and the second point, the interior surface of the main body has an irregularity factor of at least 1.2 and the weight member comprises a distribution factor of at most 1.0 and a conformity factor of at most 0.07.

A golf club head includes a body defining an interior cavity. The body includes a sole positioned at a bottom portion of the golf club head, a crown positioned at a top portion, and a skirt positioned around a periphery between the sole and crown. The body has a forward portion and a rearward portion. The club head includes a face positioned at the forward portion of the body. In some embodiments, the crown includes a lattice-like structure having thin regions surrounded by a web of relatively thicker regions. In some embodiments, the club head includes one or more stiffening tubes attached between the sole and the crown to improve the acoustic performance of the golf club head.
