A shade system includes a first track and a second track spaced a distance away from the first track, a shade is connected or interconnected to the track to slide along the track, and a cassette positioned at an end of the shade to receive the wound shade therein. The shade system may be configured to cover an area where the distance between the first and second track may varies. The shade may comprise a top section and a bottom section, and a central overlap portion to allow the top and bottom sections to slide with respect to each other. The shade may further include a plurality of adjacent panels configured to slide with respect to each other to provide shade coverage of an area where the first and second tracks are spaced apart at varying distances. The panels may be interconnected by guide wires and top and bottom sections may be supported by telescoping support rods.

Repositionable shade system for boats

An adjustable shade system for a boat is disclosed. The shade system includes at least one canvas and at least one pole, for example, an outrigger pole. The at least one canvas is secured to the at least one pole using at least one attachment point. In addition, the shade system includes at least one pivoting connection. The pivoting connection is coupled to a mounting surface and to the first end of the at least one pole. The pivoting connection is adapted to selectively cause the at least one pole to rotate in at least one rotational direction relative to the mounting surface.

In the storage orientation the upper rigid tower portion is pivoted relative to the to the lower rigid tower portion and the rigid panels are oriented in a folded orientation relative to one another.

The first telescoping assembly and the second telescoping assembly cooperate to raise and lower the center section between a first position and a second position. The portable canopy employs a first tubular shaped support member having a proximal end securable to a rod holder found on a fishing boat. A second tubular shaped support member having a proximal end is secured to a second rod holder, adjacent to, but spaced apart from, the first support member. The first and second support members are secured to the rod holders by use of locking pins. A spreader bar is attached to the distal end of each said support member, forming a rigid frame between the support members and the rod holders. A fabric cover extends between the support members, providing shade to the occupants beneath the canopy.
