Some embodiments provide ocean rig releases apparatus, systems and methods. In some implementations, a rig release apparatus comprises: a body having a first and second mating sections each being connected to one of two separate tethers; at least one locking shoe movably secured with the first mating section and movable between a first position configured to secure the first mating section and the second mating section together and a second position configured to allow the first mating section and the second mating section to separate; and a locking system configured to releasably lock the first and second mating sections and prevent hydrostatic pressure created by ocean depths from inadvertently unlocking, wherein the locking system comprises: a restraint system that inhibits the movement of the at least one locking shoe, and comprises a stop element that when released physically retracts to unlock the locking system allowing.

Boat Anchor System

A watercraft anchor having a cylindrical member having a top defining a locking surface, a bottom circular surface, and a periphery surface disposed between the top and bottom surfaces. A plurality of paddles extend from the periphery surface and align with a plurality of fins disposed on the bottom surface.

Subsea Dynamic Load Absorber
20170241501 · 2017-08-24 ·

A load absorber dampens relative movement between subsea bodies. The load absorber is cooperable with an actuating member such as a male piston element or a female cup on an opposed subsea body. The load absorber comprises a hollow structure defining an internal flow path for water. A flow restrictor acting on the flow path restricts a distal flow of water along the flow path from a proximal opening, caused by convergence between the actuating member and the load absorber. The flow restrictor comprises a shuttle element to restrict the flow path that is mounted to the structure for automatic movement from a first state to a second state in response to an increase in water pressure at the proximal opening. In the first state, the shuttle element effects greater restriction of the flow path than in the second state.

Tension device
11352099 · 2022-06-07 ·

A tension device for securing a floating structure includes an elastic member, first and second end members, and an inelastic member. The elastic member is stretchable under tension from an unstretched length to a stretched length. The first and second end members are carried at first and second ends of the elastic member, respectively. The inelastic member is secured to the first and second end member and limits the stretched length of the elastic member. First and second restrictive apertures are limited in diameter by first and second sewn portions of the inelastic member, respectively. The first and second restrictive apertures prevent separation between the inelastic member and the first and second ends of the elastic member, when the tension device is loaded in tension.

Floating Dock Retention Device
20230265622 · 2023-08-24 ·

A floating dock retention device. A flexible tether is adapted to retain a floating section to an adjacent structure, with a length defined between first and second positions along the flexible tether. A first clamp is affixed at the first position of the flexible tether, and a second clamp is affixed at the second position of the flexible tether. A drawbar spring with first and second ends is affixed to the first clamp at the first end and to the second clamp at the second end. The drawbar spring has a longer length when the drawbar spring is in a limit of its tension, and a shorter length when the drawbar spring is in a resting position. The longer length is no longer than the length between the first and second positions of the flexible tether, and the shorter length produces slack in the length between the first and second positions of the flexible tether.

A ENERGY ABSORPTION ARRANGEMENT FOR REDUCING PEAK MOORING LOADS
20210354789 · 2021-11-18 ·

An energy absorption arrangement for reducing peak mooring loads between a mooring structure with a turret rotatable around a vertical axis, and a floating structure is disclosed. The energy absorption arrangement comprises a rigid yoke horizontally rotatable in two axes and connected to the turret, a weighted pendulum member arranged on the end of the yoke and at least one mooring tether connected to the weighted pendulum member, and at least one energy absorption device for reducing peak mooring loads, comprising a fixed part connected to the floating structure, a movable rod and an absorption medium.
