Surface-mountable locking device

A surface-mountable locking device includes a body within which is disposed: (1) a box configured to receive a pin and (2) a locking mechanism having a bolt configured to engage the pin when the pin is inserted into the box. Because the locking-mechanism bolt engages the pin within the box disposed in the body, the body protects the locking-mechanism bolt from tampering, creating a more secure lock than when the bolt is exposed. An adapter for attaching a chain link (or similar link) to the locking device is also disclosed. The adapter is configured on one end as a pin to engage the box and on the other end to engage a link.

Container lashing process and system

A process for lashing containers with a power tool, a lashing rod (2) connectable to a container and a turnbuckle (1) connectable to a container transport vehicle. The turnbuckle comprises a first connection part (14) connectable to the lashing rod and second connection part (15) connectable to the container transport vehicle, the turnbuckle being rotatable around it's longitudinal axis (L). At least one of the connection parts comprises a tensioning part (144) for tensioning the lashing rod by adapting the overall length of the turnbuckle and lashing rod. The tensioning part is driven by a drive part (145) which is operated by a power tool. For lashing a container the turnbuckle is connected to the container transport vehicle and the lashing rod, which is connected to the container. The turnbuckle is rotated until the drive part is accessible by the power tool. Then, the drive part is driven by the power tool.

Amphibious air-cushion vehicle with dual-rail cargo system

An amphibious air cushion vehicle includes an air cushion supported hull configured for travel on water and smooth land; a deck supported by the hull; and a dual-rail cargo system having tracks arranged longitudinally on along the hull cargo deck from an aft end. The tracks include (1) guide rails and rollers providing for guided sliding movement of palletized cargo along the tracks, and (2) locks for locking pallets in position during transport, The track is configured at the aft end for an unloading operation in which the locks are disengaged and the palletized cargo slides off the aft end onto underlying land as the vehicle is moving forward thereon. The track may be the one track of a single-track variant, or one of a pair of tracks in a two-track variant.

A lashing eye assembly includes amounting unit and an eye plate unit which includes two wing members and a bridge member. The wing members are angularly displaced from each other about an axle axis. Each of the wing members has a rim portion and a body portion which is formed with a lashing eye configured to couple a lower end of a lashing rod assembly. The bridge member has an outer interconnecting surface interconnecting outward regions of the rim portions of the wing members, and an inner interconnecting surface which extends in a circumferential direction about the axle axis to interconnect inward regions of the rim portions of the wing members.

Container catching system which is sea-proof

A container catching system, which is sea proof, includes a frame with a base on which a container is to be positioned, hinge pins secured to the frame above the base, and arms situated around the base, each arm having an abovementioned hinge pin. Arm portions situated above the hinge pin contact, in the unfolded state, a container to be lowered to guide the container towards the base, and arm portions situated below the hinge pin move outwards when they contact the container, thereby causing at least the top arm to engage the container.

CONTAINER TRANSPORTATION SHIP

The present invention relates to a container transportation ship. More particularly, the present invention relates to a container transportation ship for transporting containers, characterized in that a loading space in which at least one container is loaded and a loading/unloading space configured such that an external transfer means can directly enter/exit in order to load and unload the container, are delimited on the deck of the container transportation ship; and a crane is provided to move the container in the longitudinal direction of the container transportation ship, in the transverse direction thereof, and in the upward/downward direction thereof for the purpose of loading the container on the external transfer means that has entered the loading/unloading space or unloading the container from the external transfer means.

A chocking system, which is both removable and readily adjustable, for providing additional transverse restraint to cargo during transit. The chocking system may be utilized when the size and weight of the cargo requires additional restraints beyond the typical lashing gear, for example, the transportation of barges on a ship.

SUPPORTING ARRANGEMENT FOR A CARRIED LOAD, MORE PARTICULARLY A LOAD CARRIED ON A SHIP
20240246642 · 2024-07-25 ·

A supporting arrangement for a carried load, more particularly a load carried on a ship such as, for example, a container, is provided. The supporting arrangement provides for connecting, in a non-rigid manner, the carried load to a bearing structure integral with the ship and to this aim it comprises a plurality of movement dampers interposed between the carried load and the bearing structure. The dampers can be directly interposed between the load and the bearing structure; alternatively, the supporting arrangement further comprises a supporting frame and the movement dampers are applied to the supporting frame. Owing to the fact that the carried load is not rigidly connected to the structure of the ship, the movements to which the ship is subjected during sea travel, especially because of wave movement, are not transmitted to the carried load, which therefore does not risk falling overboard.
