MARINE FENDER
20240059382 · 2024-02-22 ·

A marine fender can stick to, and conform to, the hull of a boat and protect the hull from abrasions and impacts. It can remain attached to the side of the boat despite motion of the boat and hard impacts or friction with neighboring objects. The marine fender can be rapidly and straightforwardly applied to, and/or removed from, the side of the boat hull. A boat can be protected by a number of individual fenders, and the group of fenders can be dissembled from each other when desired, and stowed in a relatively small area.

Disclosed is a shut-off valve installed in an accommodation chamber regulating entry/exit of air. The shut-off valve includes: a body removably disposed in the accommodation chamber and having multiple air passage holes; a valve stem adapted to be moved vertically along a valve stem insertion hole formed in the body; a disc mounted on a disc engagement portion formed at a lower end of the valve stem to open/close at least one of the multiple air passage holes; a rotor disposed on an upper side of the body to vertically move the valve stem, the rotor being provided with an opening/closing indicator to check opening/closing of the shut-off valve outside the accommodation chamber, wherein the accommodation chamber has an upper wall, a lower wall, and a side wall, the body disposed passing through the upper wall and lower wall of the accommodation chamber, and the disc is located outside the accommodation chamber.

Pneumatic Fender Monitoring System

A pneumatic fender monitoring system is provided. Image data captured by using at least one of a front view imaging device that successively images an external shape in a front view of a pneumatic fender used disposed between a vessel and a vessel or a side view imaging device that successively images the external shape in a side view of the pneumatic fender is successively input into a control unit and successively displayed on a monitor, and the control unit determines, on the basis of the image data, whether an amount of deformation of the external shape of the pneumatic fender is within a preset tolerance range or outside of a preset tolerance range.

Structural spacing component with compression and tension characteristics

A spacing component comprising a longitudinal axis wherein the structural spacing component may be configured to provide a boundary between a first object and a second object along its longitudinal axis is described. The structural spacing component may further comprise a restrictive layer enclosing an interior region wherein the restrictive layer may comprise a first length along the longitudinal axis and at least one second length transverse to the longitudinal axis. In examples, the restrictive layer may be formed of a plurality of braided strands. Additionally, the restrictive layer may define at least a partially enclosed interior region and may have flexural stiffness to maintain the first length as greater than the second length.

A boat fender system comprising a boat fender including a first portion that absorbs kinetic energy to prevent damaging a surface of a boat. The first portion having a first surface facing out away from the surface of the boat. The boat fender including a second portion arranged with the first portion. The second portion having a second surface facing toward the surface of the boat. The boat fender including an adhesive arranged on the second surface of the second portion of the boat fender. The adhesive arranged on the second surface of the second portion of the boat fender adherable to the surface of the boat to make the boat fender immobile on the surface of the boat.

SYSTEM FOR MANOEUVRING A BOAT

A system for manoeuvring a boat with fenders is described. A plurality of water nozzles is provided on the boat. Further, a plurality of pumps is operated by an artificial intelligence module and/or control unit and powered by the power source 130 of the boat. The plurality of pumps is primed continuously to reduce response time to control the plurality of pumps and each of the plurality of pumps is connected to one water nozzle. A plurality of sensors is configured to monitor the state of motion of the boat. Further, an artificial intelligence module is in communication with the plurality of water nozzles, the plurality of pumps, and the plurality of sensors. The artificial intelligence module is configured to keep the boat in a stationary standstill or on a chosen course of motion.

Low-cost viscous-drag-reducing cladding
12065218 · 2024-08-20 ·

A low-cost viscous-drag-reducing cladding for a ship's hull comprising airbags whose outer surfaces are adapted to be water repelling. Each airbag comprises a plenum that comprises substantially open space, which does not obstruct the flow of air through it. The airbags are inflated with compressed air to a pressure higher than the adjoining hydrostatic pressure. The airbag material comprises a reinforcing fabric, which is adapted to withstand the forces encountered during operation, and is sealed with a sealant so as to be made substantially impermeable to air. The outer water-repelling surface of each airbag is connected to a plenum by means of restrictor holes. Air flows from the plenum through the restrictor holes into the water-repelling layer.

Locking device for securely positioning an object on a rope or line

A locking device for securing and positioning an object when it is strung on a line by a through-hole of the object. The locking device includes an elongated shaft defining a partial cavity formed therein. The elongated shaft or a deepest portion of the partial cavity or both is tapered relative to a longitudinal axis of the shaft. The partial cavity extends along the longitudinal axis of the shaft, and the deepest portion of the partial cavity and the exterior surface of the elongated shaft forms a tapering angle. The locking device is inserted into through-hole of the object such that the rope or line fits into the partial cavity. Pressure may be applied to put the locking device into the through-hole such that there is no movement between the object and the line; thus securely positioning the object on the line. The locking device may be used to securely position a through-hole type boat fender on a line.
