High angle tethered slide with freefall drop and variable radius swing

An amusement ride requires the participant to ascend to a platform for the beginning of the amusement ride via a single or a double helix ladder. The participants are tethered for safety. Operators attend the tether lines. The tethers also can run through belays for safety.

Multipurpose exercise training device
20200215373 · 2020-07-09 ·

An exercise device having many advantageous features is described, including the ability to provide a user with multiple modes of training by transforming the device into different configurations. Users can exercise their cardiovascular endurance by using the device in its jump rope configuration. Users can also engage in muscular resistance training using the same device configured to one of multiple possible resistance training configurations. Resistance training configurations provide a method of suspending a user's bodyweight from an anchor point such that a user can train their muscular strength capacity by exerting themselves against the force of gravity. Resistance can be selected from nearly zero resistance to the user's full body weight, with the ability to easily adjust between exercises and between users, and the ability to easily transform the device between configurations to provide for versatility and ease-of-use. The device includes an inelastic length member with two handles and/or grips at both ends. In one embodiment, the device also includes handles that can be detached from complimentary clips located at the terminal end points of the inelastic length member such that the clips can secure to each other or to designated points on the inelastic member for the purpose of easily transforming the configuration of the device. This multipurpose, portable exercise device is compact and can be used to perform jump rope exercises or bodyweight suspension exercises. To perform jump rope exercises, users can manipulate the handles to exert a centrifugal force on the device to swing the inelastic member about their body. Users can perform bodyweight suspension exercises after securely mounting the device to an anchor point by and subsequently pulling or pushing one or both of the grips away from the anchor point.

An instrumented interface for quantifying at least one physiological parameter of the upper limbs of a person, capable of being secured to a gripping device, and including at least one gripping system which the person can hang from, the instrumented interface including at least one force sensor which measures a deformation of the interface when a person exerts a force on the interface via the one gripping device, and is capable of producing a value that translates a force value.

Rock climbing fall zones

Examples of techniques for projecting fall zones for a climber are disclosed. In one example implementation according to aspects of the present disclosure, a computer-implemented method includes detecting, by a processing device, a position of a climber on a climbing surface. The method further includes determining, by the processing device, a fall zone of the climber based at least in part on the position of the climber on the climbing surface. The method further includes projecting the fall zone of the climber on a ground surface beneath the climber, the fall zone being visible to others.

A modular inflatable obstacle course includes a frame unit. The frame unit is configured to be placed adjacent to a second frame unit in a sequence with a first frame unit and a last frame unit. A constant air inflatable portion is configured to be placed adjacent to a second constant air inflatable portion with a first constant air inflatable portion and a last constant air inflatable portion. The constant air inflatable portion fits over the frame unit and is preferably strapped to the frame unit. The constant air inflatable portion is attached to the frame unit to support the constant air inflatable portion. The constant air inflatable portion covers a portion of the frame unit. An air connection such as a fabric tube is preferably formed between the frame unit and the constant air inflatable portion.

A capacitive sensing climbing hold includes at least one polymer matrix and an anchor point provided in the polymer matrix, the anchor point being configured for attaching the climbing hold to a climbing wall and for transmitting a capacitive contact to a capacitive sensing unit. The polymer matrix includes a carbon powder so that the carbon powder represents between 5% and 35% of the weight of the polymer matrix, preferably between 10% and 35% of the weight of the polymer matrix, the carbon powder being substantially evenly distributed in the polymer matrix.

Transmissions incorporating eddy current braking

Described herein is a transmission mechanism and an associated method of use for braking relative movement between members, movement and braking of the members being directed through one or more transmission elements.

MULTI-PURPOSE ADJUSTABLE-INCLINE CLIMBING WALL

Embodiments of the present invention are directed to an adjustable-incline climbing wall. The climbing wall comprises one or more climbing panels supported by a frame and a system for adjusting the incline of the frame to provide a climbing wall of a desired incline. The incline of the climbing wall may be adjusted by activating an actuator, which extends the frame a distance from a support wall, tilting the climbing wall to a desired incline. When the climbing wall is substantially vertically oriented, the system for adjusting the incline of the climbing wall may extend only a small distance from the support wall so that the adjustable-incline climbing wall has a relatively small footprint. Further, by providing a plurality of attachment points between the actuator and the frame (and/or between the actuator and a support), the adjustable-incline climbing wall may be provided with a wider range of incline angles, as well as increased control over those angles.

Climbing wall assemblies

The present disclosure is directed to climbing wall assemblies having a variety of improvements. For instance, the climbing wall assemblies may include connectors to attach the surface panels to the framework, in which the connectors may be mounted substantially anywhere along the front of the framework and at substantially any angle, providing for the securement of climbing panels in various geometries. The climbing wall assemblies may also include braces that may easily be adjusted to a desired length and configuration during construction of a climbing wall. The climbing wall assemblies may also include variable-angle, integral front posts, which provide for the easy and stable securement of climbing panels in various geometries. These improvements provide climbing wall assemblies that may be easily assembled to produce a desirable climbing wall structure having few framework components.
