Suspension system

The suspension system disclosed may be used to provide anti-gravity or pro-gravity affects to aid in exercise and rehabilitation. The system includes a frame assembly which supports an elastic cord. The elastic cord supports a portion of the weight of the user and exerts upward or downward pressure on the user to reduce or enhance the user's weight. The elastic is configured to equalize the forces on the system and permit free movement of the user while reducing or enhancing the user's weight. The system may be used by itself or with a number of different exercises and equipment.

Apparatus and method for delivery of an assistive force for rehabilitation/therapy and weight training exercise machines and stands

A motorized assist apparatus provides an assist force to user moved weight of a weight training or rehabilitation/therapy exercise machine or stand and includes an assist force delivery assembly with operably connected motor and reel, a flexible assist member on the reel to transmit force from the assembly to a primary load interface (PLI). A main digital controller controls operation of the assembly and a human-machine interface (HMI) accepts input of variable parameters for assist control. In some examples, the PLI is a harness to support a rehabbing person. In some examples, the motor can be a DC servo motor or an AC induction motor. In some examples, the assist assembly has two or more motors connected to drive the reel.

Gait training apparatus

A gait training apparatus includes a wire configured to directly or indirectly pull a trainee's leg fitted with a gait assist device from a position above the trainee's head; a control unit configured to control a motor that applies a pulling force to the wire, thereby adjusting the pulling force; and a housing mechanism configured to retract or release the wire in response to a motion of the leg. The control unit controls the motor such that the pulling force is adjusted to a predetermined pulling force that is independent of the speed, when a speed at which the housing mechanism retracts or releases the wire is within a prescribed range defined in advance and including zero. The control unit controls the motor such that the pulling force is adjusted to a pulling force calculated based on the speed, when the speed is out of the prescribed range.

Running exercise equipment with associated virtual reality interaction method and non-volatile storage media

The present invention provides a running exercise equipment and a virtual reality interaction method thereof, in combination with virtual reality technology. The method includes: generating a virtual scene to the user based on the scene data; acquiring behavior data of a user when the user performs an action according to the virtual scene; generating scene update information based on the behavior data of the user, updating the scene data according to the scene update information; and controlling an action of the running exercise equipment according to the scene update information.

An apparatus for transporting a patient. The apparatus includes a supporting portion to grasp part of the body of a patient. A footboard unit is provided upon which the patient is able to stand when supported by the supporting portion, the footboard unit movable along a floor by movable means. A frame is connected between the footboard unit and the supporting portion. The apparatus is configured so that the footboard unit is able to move in proximity to a bed upon which the patient is lying, whereat the supporting portion can grasp the part of the body of the patient, wherein the frame and the supporting portion are able to support the patient in transitioning from a lying position on the bed to a standing position adjacent the bed as the footboard unit is moved relative to the bed.

Hand Positioning Strap System for Athletic Training

A first, fix length, strap, a second strap made from an elastic material, and the two end loops and hook and loop fastener for attaching them around the wrist of a wearer. Constructed from a single, inelastic strap, where on each opposing end a second partial strap length is sewn to provide a split end of two equal lengths. On each end of the split ends, a hook and fastener material is attached to allow the split ends to be removable attached to form a loop, which can then be worn around a wearer's wrist. A second strap attached to the device made from an elastic or stretchable material and shorter in length that the first, inelastic strap. In a stretched position the elastic second strap is stretched and creates a tension force to pull the extended first strap back to a shortened position.

METHOD GENERATING AN INPUT IN AN OMNIDIRECTIONAL LOCOMOTION SYSTEM

A virtual environment can use an absolute orientation framework. An absolute orientation framework in a virtual environment can be activated using an omnidirectional locomotion platform. An absolute orientation framework enables a user's avatar to move independently from the current viewpoint or camera position. The user's avatar can move in an absolute manner relative to a virtual environment map.

Apparatus and method for restoring voluntary control of locomotion in neuromotor impairments

It is disclosed an apparatus for restoring voluntary control of locomotion in a subject suffering from a neuromotor impairment comprising a multidirectional trunk support system and a device for epidural electrical stimulation. The robotic interface is capable of evaluating, enabling and training motor pattern generation and balance across a variety of natural walking behaviors in subjects with neuromotor impairments. Optionally, pharmacological cocktails can be administered to enhance rehabilitation results. It is also disclosed a method for the evaluation, enablement and training of a subject suffering from neuromotor impairments by combining robotically assisted evaluation tools with sophisticated neurobiomechanical and statistical analyzes. A method for the rehabilitation (by this term also comprising restoring voluntary control of locomotion) of a subject suffering from a neuromotor impairment in particular partial or total paralysis of limbs, is also disclosed.
