20200184846 · 2020-06-11 ·

Methods and systems for virtual coaching and performance training using a mobile device are disclosed. The methods and systems perform the steps of capturing a training video of one or more players, using the camera on the mobile computing device; superimposing a visual cue onto the training video at a first location and for a cue period starting from a first time instant; determining whether at least one of the one or more players has responded to the visual cue at a second time instant within the cue period, by analyzing a body posture flow of each player between the first time instant and the second time instant, wherein each body posture flow is extracted from the training video by performing a computer vision algorithm on one or more frames of the training video; and in response to determining that at least one player has responded to the visual cue, generating a feedback to the one or more players.

System and method for improving a basketball player's shooting by transmitting shooting statistics to an electronic device
10675523 · 2020-06-09 · ·

An ejector launches a series of basketballs to various locations selected by a user via an interface having a number of individually selectable indicia arranged in a spaced angular pattern thereon corresponding to shooting locations on a basketball playing area. A sensor counts the number of ejected basketballs and made shots. A computer calculates shooting statistics data which is transmitted to a database via a network connection device. The database is configured to store the shooting statistics data and transmit it to an electronic device.

Technologies for a sport ball and for evaluation of handling a sport ball

One or more devices, methods, and systems implementing one or more techniques for use of one or more sport balls and/or evaluations of handling one or more sport balls are disclosed. One or more techniques may include a sport ball having one or more pressure sensors configured to generate one or more force values between the one or more pressure sensors and a sport ball user upon use/engagement of the sport ball with the user. One or more techniques may include a processor configured to determine at least one handling value, perhaps based upon the one or more force values.

Jump shot and athletic activity analysis system
10664690 · 2020-05-26 · ·

Techniques where a computer or mobile device performs video analysis of a person performing a physical activity such as a basketball jump shot are described. The computer or mobile device performs video analysis based on one or more reference skeletons. The reference skeleton may be superimposed over captured video of the person performing the physical activity or compared to a generated player skeleton based on the captured video to determine derivation from the reference skeleton in the physical activity performed by the person.

Basketball shooting aide

A basketball shooting aide locatable between a player shooting a basketball and a basketball goal to help the player to recognize an opportune moment to take a shot, to develop quickness in taking the shot at the moment, and to develop shooting accuracy. The aide includes a frame supported by a support, the frame having a gap located at an upper portion of the frame and oriented so that during use of the aide when the basketball is shot through the frame toward the goal the basketball will pass through the slot on its path to the goal.

TEAM SPORTS VISION TRAINING SYSTEM BASED ON EXTENDED REALITY, VOICE INTERACTION AND ACTION RECOGNITION, AND METHOD THEREOF
20240017151 · 2024-01-18 ·

A team sports vision training system based on extended reality, voice interaction and action recognition is configured to train vision and an action of a user. A head-mounted display device includes a task scenario player and a speech sensing module. An action capture device generates an action message. A computing server stores a scenario setting parameter group and includes a task scenario generating module, a speech recognition module and an action recognition module. The task scenario generating module generates a virtual task scenario image and a task parameter group according to the scenario setting parameter group. The speech recognition module generates a speech recognition result and a vision training result. Then action recognition module generates an action recognition result and a sport training result. The vision training result and the sport training result are configured to judge whether the user meets a training requirement.

Shot Training Harness And Method For Basketball Shot Training
20200147469 · 2020-05-14 ·

The inventive concept disclosed is a basketball shot training harness for utilization in developing efficient mechanics of movement of a basketball player's shooting arm in a manner so as to instill a consistent, accurate trajectory for basketball shots. The shot training harness comprises firstly, a back brace, being a belt-like structure having an exterior surface and an interior surface. Other essential components of the harness include an adjusting belt, a plurality of waist adapters, a left chest strap, a right chest strap, a first back strap, a second back strap, an elastomeric resistance band removably attached to the back brace, a sleeve, and a flexion restrictor. A shooter dons and fastens the harness, inserts his/her shooting arm into the sleeve, and with repeated shot practice, develops proper mechanics and trajectory for shots.

Remote multiplayer interactive physical gaming with mobile computing devices

Methods and systems for remote real-time or asynchronous multiplayer gameplay using mobile devices are disclosed. The methods and systems include steps of mounting mobile computing devices in gaming areas associated with users; initiating a game between the users; analyzing movements of the users, ball(s), and/or other game equipment of the game by performing a computer vision algorithm on one or more frames of an input video of the game; and providing feedback to the users, where feedback may include instructions to be performed by the users and player analytics. Embodiments of the present invention use computer vision techniques to enable a resource-limited mobile device such as a smartphone to conduct the aforementioned steps.

A practice aid device includes a control body; a control unit; a plurality of finger control assemblies, each including a rotary assembly with a rotatable spool and a rotary actuator, a control cable, a finger strap, a lateral sensor, a finger cap with a tip tension sensor; front and rear straps for connecting the control body to a forearm of a user; and a touch screen, in order to enable the user to control outward and inward rotation of each rotary actuator and measure control cable extension, finger separation distance, and pulling force.

Precision basketball-handling training tool
10639532 · 2020-05-05 ·

A precision ball-handling training tool develops accuracy and proficiency in basketball control of an athlete performing no-look dribbling of a basketball. A non-opaque tubular member terminating in a body member forms a ring having a perimeter that defines an open space inside the perimeter. A light source is positioned within the tubular member to emit light from and along its length. The emitted light is sufficiently intense to be perceived by the athlete performing no-look dribbling of the basketball within the open space. Opposed light beam switch components positioned at the perimeter of the ring define a line-of-sight across the open space. Power supply and processor circuitry contained in the body member responds to instances of a basketball obstructing the line-of-sight during a basketball dribbling exercise by causing momentary light emissions from the light source to indicate whenever the athlete dribbles the basketball within the open space of the ring.
