A method of operating a vessel includes providing hydrogen or a fuel mixture containing hydrogen and a hydrocarbon fuel to a power generator disposed on the vessel, and providing power from the power generator to an electrical load of the vessel.
MARINE POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING MARINE POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM
A marine power supply system includes a first battery to supply power to an electric motor, a battery switch to be manually switched between an on-state in which the first battery is used and an off-state in which the first battery is not used, and a notifier to provide a notification indicating that the battery switch is in the off-state when the battery switch is in the off-state.
DEVICE FOR PROPELLING A NAVIGATIONAL SEACRAFT, AND NAVIGATIONAL SEACRAFT PROVIDED WITH SUCH A DEVICE
The present invention concerns an outboard propulsion device for a navigational seacraft comprising a propulsion means (4), at least one engine (1) supplying torque to a drive shaft (20) extending out of the engine and driving a transmission shaft (3) intended to supply torque to the propulsion means, the drive shaft and the propulsion shaft being in a fixed relative orientation, and a transmission means (2) connected at the input to the drive shaft (20) in order to receive the engine torque and transmit it at least partially to the transmission shaft. The transmission means (2) modifies the orientation of the engine torque and transmits it, in the form of modified torque, to the transmission shaft (3) to which it is connected at the output, and the transmission shaft (3) is a double universal joint shaft (30, 31) that extends in an inclined manner between the transmission means (2) and the propulsion means (4), the transmission shaft at least partially transmitting the modified torque to the propulsion means.
Gas-electric parallel-serial hybrid marine power train system with LNG cooling
An object of the present disclosure is to provide a gas-electric parallel-serial hybrid marine power train system with LNG cooling, including a gas engine, an electric generator, a motor, a natural gas storage supplier. The gas engine is connected to the shaft belt motor through a gearbox, the motor is connected to the gearbox through a clutch, propellers are connected to the motor, and an engine cooling system and a fuel cell cooling system are connected to an LNG vaporization heat exchange apparatus; the electrical energy sources are the fuel cell, the electric generator and a storage battery. The arrangement of multiple power sources according to the present disclosure can meet ship requirements under various environments and circumstances, improve operating efficiencies of the gas engine, the shaft belt motor and the electric motor.
Marine parallel propulsion system
A propulsion system for a marine vessel having a first driveline assembly having a first engine and a first motor-generator, a second driveline assembly having a second engine and second motor-generator, and a controller configured to operate of the assemblies in a split mode. The split mode includes the first driveline assembly being driven by the first engine without torque assistance from the first motor-generator and the second driveline assembly being driven by the second motor-generator without torque assistance from the second engine and includes the first motor generator providing electrical power to the marine vessel grid for consumption.
STAXcraft
A novel emissions control watercraft (STAXcraft) solving a long-felt but unsolved need regarding disadvantages associated with prior-art emissions servicing watercraft, the disadvantages selected from the group, but not limited to, the use of tugboats, securing or mooring servicing watercraft to a serviced vessel, additional expenses and time-delays and inefficiencies of land-based approaches, increased toxic emissions, increased greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions, danger from falling cargo, tanker safety, alongside mooring in narrow channels preventing other OGV's to pass safely, and cargo tank emissions.
Energy self-contained oceanic drone for AI-based marine information survey and surveillance and method using same
Disclosed are an energy self-contained oceanic drone for AI-based marine information survey and surveillance and a method using the same. A method of monitoring, by a marine vessel system, an ocean condition may include taking in a given amount of seawater or fresh water, performing advanced water treatment on the taken-in seawater or fresh water, performing water electrolysis treatment on the water obtained through the advanced water treatment, generating electric energy using a fuel cell based on hydrogen obtained from the water through the water electrolysis treatment, and supplying the generated electric energy as electric power for the marine vessel system.
Hybrid type vessel propulsion apparatus
A hybrid type vessel propulsion apparatus includes an engine, an electric motor, a propeller shaft that rotates together with a propeller, a first transmission path, a second transmission path, and a third transmission path. The first transmission path transmits power of the engine to the propeller shaft. The second transmission path transmits power of the electric motor to the propeller shaft without transmitting the power through the first transmission path. The third transmission path transmits a portion of the power of the engine, which has been transmitted from the first transmission path to the propeller shaft, to the electric motor in order for the electric motor to generate electricity.
Modular drive apparatus
A modular drive apparatus includes a gear box (16) with a rotatable internal transmission gear (60). The gear box includes a plurality of body openings (44). The openings may be selectively closed by the installation of cover plates (52, 54). With a cover plate removed, a drive coupler (32, 34, 58, 148) may be extended in the respective opening and mounted in operative connection with the gear box. In the mounted position of the drive coupler, an idler gear (72, 172) engages the ring gear of the gear box. Rotatable power devices such as pumps, motors and generators may be operatively rotatably engaged with the drive coupler.
