20190144106 · 2019-05-16 ·

A bearing assembly is for movably coupling first and second members, one being movable relative to the other. A plain bearing section includes an inner ring connectable with the first member and an outer convex bearing surface. An outer ring is disposed about the inner ring and has an inner concave bearing surface disposed against the inner ring bearing surface. The two bearing surfaces are formed such that one bearing surfaces slides against the other when the movable member displaces about a first axis and two bearing surfaces engage to prevent displacement between the two rings when the movable member displaces about a second axis. An elastomeric bearing section is disposed about the plain bearing section, is connected with the second member and formed such that at least a portion of the elastomeric bearing section flexes when the movable member angularly displaces about the second axis.

Abrasion resistant pivot bearing

An elastomeric bearing configured for use in a rotor blade assembly is provided including an inner race, and an outer race. An outer damper portion is arranged adjacent the outer race and an inner snubber portion is arranged adjacent the inner race. A rigid transition layer is disposed between the outer damper portion and the inner snubber portion. The rigid transition layer has a generally circular cross-section except at a segment which has been removed and which defines a generally planar surface at a chord of the segment. The generally planar surface is configured to contact a surface of an adjacent component.

Rotor Assembly with Composite Static Mast

A rotor assembly has a composite driveshaft extending between a transmission and a yoke for providing torque from the transmission to the yoke to cause rotation of the yoke and a plurality of rotor blade assemblies attached thereto. The rotor hub also has a composite static mast coupled to the yoke and a frame. The static mast being configured to carry the lift and thrust forces from the yoke to the frame.

Articulated main rotor hub with inwardly CF bearing and 3% flapping hinge offset

A rotary system including a grip having an opening forming a first bridge for receiving a centrifugal force bearing that faces inwardly towards the rotor mast. A rotor blade couples to the grip and a pitch horn positioned outside the opening pitches the rotor blade during flight. A bearing assembly attaches the first bridge to the yoke and controls blade forces exerted against the hub assembly during flight.

Rotor Hub with Blade-to-Blade Dampers Attached to the Pitch Change Axis

An aircraft rotor assembly has a yoke and a plurality of rotor blade assemblies coupled thereto. Each of the rotor blade assemblies include a rotor blade, a bearing, and a blade grip coupling the rotor blade to the bearing. Each of the rotor blades is rotatable about a lead-lag axis, flap axis, and a pitch change axis, wherein all the axes intersect within the bearing. Adjacent pairs of rotor blade assemblies are coupled together via a damper assembly that is coupled to the pitch change axis of each of the rotor blade assemblies.

Rotor Hub with Blade-to-Blade Dampers and Axisymmetric Elastomeric Spherical Bearings

An aircraft rotor assembly has a yoke defining a plurality of bearing pockets. Each bearing pocket houses an axisymmetric elastomeric spherical bearing at least partially therein. The axisymmetric elastomeric spherical bearings comprise flap, lead-lag, and pitch hinges for rotor blades coupled thereto. The rotor blades maintain a first in-lane frequency of less than 1/rev through the use of damper assemblies coupled between adjacent blades.
