YAW-enhancing attitude control system for VTOL fixed-wing aircraft

An unmanned aircraft capable of vertical takeoff, vertical landing, and/or flight in a hovering orientation is presented; its fixed-wing is positively-swept and of low aspect-ratio with suitable airfoils. The unmanned aircraft includes a thruster comprising two contra-rotating motors and propellers forward of the fixed-wing's leading-edge and a rudderless fin aft of the center-of-mass, all of which lie on the aircraft's plane-of-symmetry. Two elevons provide pitch and roll control. The unmanned aircraft can stand upright on its feet. A control system for aircraft with at least one wing is also presented. The control system includes a mount and attached thruster which lie on the plane-of-symmetry forward of the fixed-wing's leading-edge. A hinge axis approximately perpendicular to the aircraft's horizontal plane passes through the mount. The thruster rotates about the hinge axis for aircraft yaw control.

Flight equipment according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an aerial vehicle having a body and at least one rotor held on the body; a plurality of supporters mounted to the aerial vehicle and supporting a protective member stretched therebetween so as to surround an outside of the body; a support information detection unit configured to detect support information indicating a support state of the protective member; and a mounting state determiner configured to determine whether the support state of the protective member is suitable or unsuitable, based on a value detected by the support information detection unit.

System and method for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles

A method for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) includes detecting an unknown flying object in a monitored zone of air space. An image of the detected unknown flying object is captured. The captured image is analyzed to classify the detected unknown flying object. A determination is made, based on the analyzed image, whether the detected unknown flying object comprises a UAV.

CAMERA SYSTEM USING STABILIZING GIMBAL

Disclosed is an electronic gimbal with camera and mounting configuration. The gimbal can include an inertial measurement unit which can sense the orientation of the camera and three electronic motors which can manipulate the orientation of the camera. The gimbal can be removably coupled to a variety of mount platforms, such as an aerial vehicle, a handheld grip, or a rotating platform. Moreover, a camera can be removably coupled to the gimbal and can be held in a removable camera frame. Also disclosed is a system for allowing the platform, to which the gimbal is mounted, to control settings of the camera or to trigger actions on the camera, such as taking a picture, or initiating the recording of a video. The gimbal can also provide a connection between the camera and the mount platform, such that the mount platform receives images and video content from the camera.

Panoramic photographing apparatus, panoramic photographing system, photographing method, and aircraft
20230043497 · 2023-02-09 ·

The present invention is applicable to the technical field of aerial photography. Disclosed are a panoramic photographing apparatus, a panoramic photographing system, a photographing method, and an aircraft. The photographing apparatus comprises a support connected to an aircraft body and a photographing module mounted on the support. The photographing module comprises a first photographing module and a second photographing module arranged in a first direction and a second direction. The first direction is opposite to the second direction. A line of sight corresponding to a maximum angle of view of the first photographing module intersects a line of sight corresponding to a maximum angle of view of the second photographing module. The photographing method uses the photographing apparatus. The aircraft comprises the photographing apparatus. The panoramic photographing system comprises the remote terminal and the photographing apparatus/aircraft. In the panoramic photographing apparatus, the panoramic photographing system, the photographing method, and the aircraft provided by the present invention, the aircraft body and the photographing apparatus are completely hidden during capturing of a panoramic photo or a panoramic video, thereby ensuring a good panoramic photographing effect, and facilitating subsequent image processing.

DOCKING STATION WITH RETRACTABLE GUIDE APPARATUS FOR UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE
20230039483 · 2023-02-09 ·

Disclosed is a docking station for use with an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The docking station has a retractable guide apparatus having a retracted state in which the retractable guide apparatus is retracted within the docking station and an expanded state in which the retractable guide is expanded outward from the docking station for physically guiding the UAV into the docking station. Given that the guide apparatus is retractable, the retractable guide apparatus is provided with some protection from environmental factors such as exposure to ice, snow and high winds. This can help to increase durability and reliability, such that the UAV can reliably land in the docking station without any personnel being present. Deployment is also possible without any personnel being present. Therefore, it is possible to avoid or mitigate the costs associated with personnel.
