A video monitor assembly including a video monitor having a film-covered glass screen, a perimeter cover affixed to the video monitor having a frame portion overlapping an outer perimeter of the front face of the glass screen continuously along the outer perimeter thereof, and a continuous seal provided between the frame portion of the perimeter cover and the overlapped portion of the front face of the glass screen to prevent glass fragment escape in a direction forward of the glass screen in the event of fracture of the glass screen.
Slave bluetooth device switching between active bluetooth connections with different master bluetooth devices
A slave Bluetooth device establishes first and second connections with first and second master Bluetooth devices, respectively, that each operate in a master mode. The slave Bluetooth device operates in a slave mode when communicating through any of the first and second connections. The slave Bluetooth device communicates connection parameter update request packets containing timeout values to the first and second master Bluetooth devices. The slave Bluetooth device alternates during non-overlapping time slots between at least: 1) monitoring the first connection for traffic transmitted by the first master Bluetooth device while not monitoring the second connection; and 2) monitoring the second connection for traffic transmitted by the second master Bluetooth device while not monitoring the first connection; and controls a rate at which the alternating is performed based on the first timeout value and the second timeout value.
SEAT SYSTEM
A seat system for a passenger aircraft. The seat system includes a passenger seat frame having a backrest support assembly and a seat bottom support assembly. A quadrant assembly is connected between the backrest support assembly and the seat bottom support assembly. The quadrant assembly includes a quadrant member including a pivot point adapted to pivot the backrest with respect to the seat bottom support assembly and the quadrant member. The quadrant member is attached to the backrest and adapted to break away in the event of an impact with the backrest. The quadrant assembly may further include a pivot point brake assembly attached to the pivot point and adapted to provide a controlled stop of the backrest in the event of an impact with the backrest. In addition, a seat back tray table may be attached to the back of the passenger seat frame.
DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD OF DETERMINING RECLINING STATE
A reclining state determination device includes a detecting unit, an image capturing unit, and a control unit. The detecting unit detects an acceleration of a display device attached, so as to be capable of tilting, to a rear surface of a reclining seat. The image capturing unit captures an image from the display device. The control unit determines a reclining state of the reclining seat on the basis of the captured image and the detected acceleration.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING QUICK RELEASE OF VIDEO MONITORS FROM AN ASSEMBLY
A quick release assembly for use in mounting a display system to a fixture. The system includes an attachment assembly on a back side of the display system that receives pins from a mounting bracket into openings of lock modules that include a latch that holds at least one pin in place. The latch is held in the lock position by spring bias. An actuator wire made of a shape memory alloy contracts when an electrical current is applied. The contraction of the wire overcomes the spring bias to move the latch from the lock position to an unlocked position to allow the display system to be removed from the pin.
Aircraft having gesture-based control for an onboard passenger service unit
An aircraft is provided that includes a passenger service unit for a passenger seated in a seat in its cabin. The aircraft includes a camera configured to acquire an image of the passenger, and a control module configured to at least receive the image of the passenger. The control module is configured to receive non-tactile gesture preference data and dominant hand data, and access a non-tactile gesture data store that includes a plurality of images of non-tactile hand signals or non-tactile hand gestures. Based on the foregoing, the control module is configured to generate non-tactile gesture data in accordance with and indicative of a non-tactile hand signal or a non-tactile gesture made by the passenger. And the control module is configured to control one or more cabin systems including in at least one instance the passenger service unit based on the non-tactile gesture data.
Monitor and attaching-detaching device therefor
A monitor is configured to be detachably fixed to a wall surface and includes an attaching-detaching device configured to be positioned between the monitor and the wall surface and detachably fix the monitor to the wall surface. The attaching-detaching device includes a swing member having a distal end and a proximal end, a hinge mechanism configured to be attachable to the wall surface and support the proximal end of the swing member such that the distal end of the swing member is swingable toward or away from the wall surface, a swing member engagement portion on a rear surface of the monitor opposite to a display screen of the monitor, the swing member engagement portion being engaged with the swing member, and a lock mechanism on the rear surface of the monitor, the lock mechanism being configured to lock the swing member in engagement with the swing member engagement portion.
Seat system having an adjustable wraparound headrest
A seat system for a passenger aircraft includes at least one passenger seat and an adjustable headrest attached to the passenger seat. The adjustable headrest includes a plurality of panels including a center panel and at least two pairs of side panels; a plurality of vertically articulated joints each separating each of the pairs one from another; a sliding mechanism such as a rail to facilitate vertical displacement of the plurality of panels, the sliding mechanism connected to the center panel; and a quick release mechanism to facilitate removal of the plurality of panels from the passenger seat, the quick release mechanism engaged with the sliding mechanism. A seat back tray table may further be attached to the back of the passenger seat. The headrest is vertically adjustable, and configured to curve around a passenger's head to provide comfort and stability.
