The seat mounted housing further including a first securing strap having a first end and an opposing second end, the first end of the first securing strap coupled to a first attachment point on the back panel, the opposing second end of the first securing strap coupled to a second attachment point on the back panel, the first securing strap configured to hold and secure a first item within the cavity.
SEAT SYSTEM
A seat system for a passenger aircraft. The seat system includes a passenger seat frame having at least one pair of generally parallel spar tubes laterally positioned across the passenger seat frame and an articulating seat pan assembly. In one embodiment, the articulation seat pan assembly includes at least two pairs of opposed crescent-shaped seat pan roller assemblies attached to the spar tubes and a seat pan adapted to be mounted onto the pairs of opposed seat pan roller assemblies whereby the seat pan articulates along the seat pan rollers from back to front of the passenger seat frame. The seat system may further include a seat back tray table attached to the back of the passenger seat.
DATA INPUT DEVICE FOR INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
A device for inputting data into an information processing apparatus using a communication cable. The device includes a sensing field including signal lines. The sensing field generates one or more signals when an object is proximate thereto. The device further includes at least one processor connected to the signal lines. The processor receives the signals and generates data based on the signals. The device additionally includes a port in communication with the processor for data output. The port is configured to connect to the cable and communicate the data over the cable to the information processing apparatus. The device includes a light source configured to illuminate keyboard symbols corresponding to areas of the sensing field. The device also includes an exterior surface covering the sensing field and obscuring the keyboard symbols from visibility unless the light source is providing illumination.
PASSENGER VEHICLE INTERFACE SYSTEM
A passenger interface apparatus for a passenger transportation vehicle having a visual display generator, a docking station, a removable processor unit detachably connected to the docking station, a connection between the docking station and the visual display generator for the supply of data and/or signalling to the visual display generator, the removable processor unit having a memory, a data processor, and a connection interface to connect to the docking station.
Announcement system and speech-information conversion apparatus
An announcement system includes: a sound-pickup apparatus for receiving a speech expressing a fixed-form sentence; a conversion apparatus for generating a translation of the fixed-form sentence based on the speech received; and output apparatus for presenting information indicating the translation. The conversion apparatus includes: a storage unit for storing first-information indicating a predetermined sentence in a mode, and second-information indicating the predetermined sentence in another mode; an audio-input unit for receiving speech-information indicating the fixed-form sentence; speech recognition unit for generating text-information based on the speech-information; conversion processing unit for identifying the first-information corresponding to the fixed-form sentence, based on the text-information and a part of the first-information, before the sound pickup apparatus finishes receiving the speech expressing the whole fixed-form sentence; and transmission unit for transmitting the second-information corresponding to the identified first-information. The output apparatus presents the received second-information by at least either a video or a speech.
Monitor device having a connecting surface tilted downward
A monitor device including: a display section having a display surface; an operation section disposed at a bottom of the display section and having an operation surface substantially parallel to the display surface; a connecting section disposed at a lateral side of the operation section and having a connecting surface tilted downward relative to the display surface; and a surface switching section that connects the operation surface and the connecting surface to each other, and a normal of the display surface and a normal of the connecting surface form an acute angle.
ENGAGEMENT MEASUREMENT IN IN-FLIGHT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEMS
A system for data collection in a commercial travel setting is described. The system includes a plurality of sensor circuits that collect a plurality of sensor data values from in-flight entertainment (IFE) network. The system includes a sensor data processor that interprets the plurality of sensor data values. The system includes a passenger profile management controller configured that filters the plurality of sensor data values by processing a plurality of passenger profiles that are related to at least some of the plurality of sensor data values. The system generates a measurement index that is normalized with respect to the plurality of sensor data values or the plurality of passenger profiles.
SLAVE BLUETOOTH DEVICE SWITCHING BETWEEN ACTIVE BLUETOOTH CONNECTIONS WITH DIFFERENT MASTER BLUETOOTH DEVICES
A slave Bluetooth device establishes first and second connections with first and second master Bluetooth devices, respectively, that each operate in a master mode. The slave Bluetooth device operates in a slave mode when communicating through any of the first and second connections. The slave Bluetooth device communicates connection parameter update request packets containing timeout values to the first and second master Bluetooth devices. The slave Bluetooth device alternates during non-overlapping time slots between at least: 1) monitoring the first connection for traffic transmitted by the first master Bluetooth device while not monitoring the second connection; and 2) monitoring the second connection for traffic transmitted by the second master Bluetooth device while not monitoring the first connection; and controls a rate at which the alternating is performed based on the first timeout value and the second timeout value.
AIRCRAFT HAVING GESTURE-BASED CONTROL FOR AN ONBOARD PASSENGER SERVICE UNIT
An aircraft is provided that includes a passenger service unit for a passenger seated in a seat in its cabin. The aircraft includes a camera configured to acquire an image of the passenger, and a control module configured to at least receive the image of the passenger. The control module is configured to receive non-tactile gesture preference data and dominant hand data, and access a non-tactile gesture data store that includes a plurality of images of non-tactile hand signals or non-tactile hand gestures. Based on the foregoing, the control module is configured to generate non-tactile gesture data in accordance with and indicative of a non-tactile hand signal or a non-tactile gesture made by the passenger. And the control module is configured to control one or more cabin systems including in at least one instance the passenger service unit based on the non-tactile gesture data.
