Detachable seat mounted audio-visual entertainment system with locally storable, selectable, and updatable content
A detachable seat mounted audio-visual entertainment system. The system has locally storable, selectable, and updatable content. The passenger in-flight entertainment device terminal has passenger selectable controls, a video display, an audio output, storage media such as a magnetic or hard disk, and a payment interface device such as a card swipe, all located in a seat which has been wired with power, local network, and audio wiring. A local, transport vehicle mounted local host computer provides supports the local network, and may be used to collect revenue slips resulting from passenger input to the payment interface device. Revenue slips may be posted to a remote server during a trip segment via satellite or direct radio frequency communication to receiving facilities providing connection to the internet, or alternately collected and posted batchwise.
MONITOR AND ATTACHING-DETACHING DEVICE THEREFOR
A monitor detachably fixed to a wall surface includes an attaching-detaching device disposed between the monitor and the wall surface and configured to detachably fix the monitor to the wall surface. The attaching-detaching device includes a swing member having a distal end and a proximal end, a hinge mechanism configured to be attachable to the wall surface and support the proximal end of the swing member such that the distal end of the swing member is swingable to approach or leave the wall surface, a swing member engagement portion provided on a rear surface opposite to a display screen of the monitor and engaged with the swing member, and a lock mechanism provided on the rear surface of the monitor and configured to unlockably lock the swing member being engaged with the swing member engagement portion.
TERMINAL CONTROL SYSTEM, CONTROLLER, AND TERMINAL CONTROL METHOD
A terminal control system includes a plurality of terminals and a controller which controls the plurality of terminals. Each of the plurality of terminals includes an imager which images a user of the terminal to generate image data. The controller includes: a storage which stores group information indicating grouping of the plurality of terminals; a classifier which classifies each of target terminals included in a same group indicated by the group information among the plurality of terminals into a first group or a second group, based on the image data generated by the imager of the target terminal; and a setter which performs settings of a first type terminal classified into the first group and a second type terminal classified into the second group so that the first type terminal can control the second type terminal.
Apparatus, Systems, And Methods For Life Vest Identification, Inspection, And Maintenance
A life vest inspection system includes a plurality of NFC readers positioned to communicate with at least one NFC tag associated with a life vest or its packaging. The NFC readers are integrated with an in-flight entertainment system, such that the inspection of all life vests can be conducted simultaneously and without a crew member moving throughout the cabin to individually inspect each life vest or row-by row/section by section.
DATA INPUT DEVICE FOR INFORMATION PROCESSING APPARATUS
A device for inputting data into an information processing apparatus using a communication cable. The device includes a sensing field including signal lines. The sensing field generates one or more signals when an object is proximate thereto. The device further includes at least one processor connected to the signal lines. The processor receives the signals and generates data based on the signals. The device additionally includes a port in communication with the processor for data output. The port is configured to connect to the cable and communicate the data over the cable to the information processing apparatus. The device includes a light source configured to illuminate keyboard symbols corresponding to areas of the sensing field. The device also includes an exterior surface covering the sensing field and obscuring the keyboard symbols from visibility unless the light source is providing illumination.
ANNOUNCEMENT SYSTEM AND SPEECH-INFORMATION CONVERSION APPARATUS
An announcement system includes: a sound-pickup apparatus for receiving a speech expressing a fixed-form sentence; a conversion apparatus for generating a translation of the fixed-form sentence based on the speech received; and output apparatus for presenting information indicating the translation. The conversion apparatus includes: a storage unit for storing first-information indicating a predetermined sentence in a mode, and second-information indicating the predetermined sentence in another mode; an audio-input unit for receiving speech-information indicating the fixed-form sentence; speech recognition unit for generating text-information based on the speech-information; conversion processing unit for identifying the first-information corresponding to the fixed-form sentence, based on the text-information and a part of the first-information, before the sound pickup apparatus finishes receiving the speech expressing the whole fixed-form sentence; and transmission unit for transmitting the second-information corresponding to the identified first-information. The output apparatus presents the received second-information by at least either a video or a speech.
System and method for providing an integrated user interface system at a seat
A light-weight and low-power integrated system module suitable for installation at a passenger seat disposed aboard a passenger vehicle and methods for manufacturing and using same. By integrating selected interface system components with the associated interconnections, the integrated system module provides an intuitive user interface system for interacting with a passenger entertainment system. The integrated system module can be installed within a seatback of the passenger seat that compliments the look and feel of the user interface system, creating an immersive entertainment experience during travel.
Friction stop device
Deployment apparatus (10) including a deployment object (12), a deployment arm (16) with a first end (22) coupled to the deployment object and a second end (24) having a pivot (26), and a hinge assembly (18) rotatably attached to the pivot of the deployment arm.
