Component positioning systems and methods for an internal cabin of vehicle

A component positioning system and method are configured to facilitate positioning of a component (such as a seat assembly) on a seat track within an internal cabin of a vehicle. The component positioning system and method include a component, and a position indicator coupled to a portion of the component. The position indicator emits a proper position indication when the component is in a proper position in relation to the seat track. The position indicator emits a remedial position indication when the component is not in the proper position with respect to the seat track.

A display in a commercial passenger vehicle can an option to be locked or unlock to enhance security. An example system for securing an in-vehicle entertainment (WE) display in a commercial passenger vehicle comprises a mobile device and a computer. The mobile device comprises a first processor configured to secure a display located in the commercial passenger vehicle, where the first processor is configured to: obtain a payload; generate a first digitally signed payload as a first output of a first mathematical computation performed on the payload with a secret key; and send a first message comprising the first digitally signed payload and a lock command to instruct the display to lock the display. The computer is communicably coupled with the display and comprises a second processor configured to send a first instruction to cause the display to lock in response to a reception of the lock command.

Interactive aircraft cabin

An aircraft cabin having seats with at least one of which is paired with a passenger terminal to communicate wirelessly. A control unit of the seat transmits data on the capabilities for adjusting the seat to the passenger terminal. The passenger terminal transmits instructions for adjusting the seat to the control unit of the seat. The passenger terminal includes application software to interpret the data received from the control unit of the seat to display a representation of the possible adjustments on a screen of the passenger terminal and to interpret actions by an operator on keys of the passenger terminal as instructions for adjusting the seat. A main computer of the cabin handles the communication between the passenger terminals and crew terminals to transmit, via displays on screens of the terminals, requests from a passenger to the crew and from the crew to a passenger or group of passengers.

Integrated aircraft galley and appliance operating system

A system for communicating between passenger seats and an aircraft galley. The system may include a control unit including a display area for interfacing with a crew member. The system may include a plurality of devices, each positioned at a respective passenger seat. The control unit may be adapted to display on the display area data related to a particular order, including a location of an associated passenger seat. The control unit may be further adapted to transmit to a particular device associated with the order notifications concerning a status of the particular order.

PASSENGER SEAT ARRANGEMENT WITH SENSOR DATA ACQUISITION, AND PASSENGER AIRCRAFT HAVING SUCH A SEAT ARRANGEMENT

There is described herein a method and system for the configuration of vehicle management components using in-vehicle position detection. The in-vehicle position detection may also be used for providing a floor plan of the vehicle. In some embodiments, in-vehicle position detection may be used concurrently for configuring vehicle management components and for providing floor plans.

HEALTH MONITORING SEATING SYSTEM

A system includes a passenger seat. A biometric sensor is configured to monitor at least one biometric of a passenger seated in the passenger seat. A controller is operatively connected to control the biometric sensor and to provide output indicative of a health condition of the passenger based on the biometric.

INTEGRATED AIRCRAFT SEAT CONTROL PANEL

An aircraft seat may include an integrated control panel at least partially embedded within an armrest of the aircraft seat. The integrated aircraft seat control panel may include at least one signal path for communicatively coupling the user interface device to at least one component of the aircraft seat. The user interface device may generate signals for at least one control function of the at least one component following an input being received. The integrated aircraft seat control panel may include a textile covering coupled to the armrest and positioned above the user interface device, the textile covering including a plurality of icons configured to indicate the location of the at least one control function on a respective portion of the user interface device. At least one icon is configured to illuminate following a receipt by at least one of a power signal or a light source output.

The invention relates to a seating system (10) for a passenger aircraft, comprising at least one aircraft seat (12) having at least one sensor device (24) which is configured to detect a seat load on the aircraft seat (12) by a passenger (22) sitting thereon, an evaluation device (32) which is configured to determine a recommendation for a change in a sitting posture depending on the detected seat load and a display device (36) which is configured to display the recommendation.

Furthermore, the invention relates to a method, a program product and a sleeping system for a passenger aircraft.

Aircraft Passenger Activity Monitoring

In an illustrative embodiment, a crew information system is coupled to sensors in passenger seats, seatbelts, tray tables and overhead bins. If the vehicle seat sensor subsystem senses a passenger on a seat and senses the corresponding passenger seat belt is unbuckled, the vehicle seat sensor subsystem may alert the flight crew of a non-compliance condition. The crew information system may also, for example, facilitate preparation for take-off by signaling the crew when, for all seats in which passengers are detected, all tray tables are stowed and all seatbelts are buckled. The crew may be similarly informed of overhead bins which are not properly latched. Crew member notifications may advantageously report the specific nonconforming issue and seat or bin position.
