ALTERNATIVE AIRCRAFT CONFIGURATIONS FOR FLIGHT CREW AREAS
20200130804 · 2020-04-30 ·

Embodiments described herein provide for flight crew areas onboard aircraft that are only accessible via a door to the exterior of the aircraft. The flight crew areas may be included within the same section of the fuselage of the aircraft as the aircraft cabin, or may be included within a different section of the fuselage. One embodiment comprises an aircraft that includes an aircraft cabin and a flight crew area. The aircraft cabin is configured for passenger seating. The flight crew area includes a door opening to an exterior of the aircraft that is sized for a person, and a cockpit that is only accessible by a flight crew via the door.

REUSABLE COVERING FOR PROTECTING A FINISHED SURFACE
20200108582 · 2020-04-09 ·

A method for manufacturing a panel assembly is disclosed. The method includes receiving the panel assembly. The panel assembly includes at least one panel having a finished surface and a covering that is removably adhered to the finished surface of the panel, where the covering includes a plurality of patch sections defined by lines of demarcation. The method also includes removing at least one patch section from the finished surface of the panel to create an opening by tearing the at least one patch section along the lines of demarcation. Each of the plurality of patch sections are frangible with respect to an adjacent patch section at the lines of demarcation.

Overhead Payload Module with Integrated Stowbins

In an example, an overhead payload module is described. The overhead payload module comprises a ceiling assembly, an aisle floor assembly, a first payload assembly attached to the ceiling assembly and the aisle floor assembly to form a first side of the overhead payload module, and a second payload assembly attached to the ceiling assembly and the aisle floor assembly to form a second side of the overhead payload module. The first payload assembly comprises a first payload module and a first overhead stowbin module structurally integrated with the first payload module and having a first stowage area configured to receive stowbins. The second payload assembly is positioned opposite the first payload assembly to form an aisle therebetween and comprises a second payload module and a second overhead stowbin module structurally integrated with the second payload module and having a second stowage area configured to receive stowbins.

NON-INTRUSIVE PASSENGER REST CABIN MONITORING SYSTEM

A passenger cabin monitoring system includes infrared cameras disposed in respective passenger rest compartments, a flight attendant information system including at least one display and at least one speaker, and a computing device in communication with the infrared cameras and the flight attendant information system. The computing device is configured to detect a temperature of a portion of passenger rest compartment based on one or more thermal images generated by a respective infrared camera of the passenger rest compartment. The computing device is further configured to compare the temperature of the portion of the passenger rest compartment with a predetermined critical temperature and provide an audible alert and/or a visual alert via the flight attendant information system to indicate a critical status of the passenger rest compartment when the temperature of the portion of the passenger rest compartment is above the predetermined critical temperature.

Reusable covering for protecting a finished surface

A panel assembly is disclosed, and includes at least one panel that defines a finished surface and a covering that is removeably adhered to the finished surface of the panel. The covering includes a plurality of patch sections that are defined by lines of demarcation, and each of the plurality of patch sections are frangible with respect to adjacent patch sections at the lines of demarcation.

Autarkic monument in an aircraft pressure cabin with decentralized operating medium supply and efficient energy conversion

An autarkic monument in an aircraft pressure cabin supplied with the required operating mediums in a decentralized fashion by carrying along these operating mediums in the monument in operating medium reservoirs is provided. Methods for the efficient energy conversion within this autarkic monument are also provided. The efficiency is achieved such that the energy conversion is, based on the operating mediums, optimized with respect to exergo-economic and/or exergo-ecologic aspects, and such that energy conversion processes are adapted to one another if several energy conversion processes take place.

Aircraft crew egress hatch assembly, system, and method

Crew egress pathways and crew egress pathway exits in aircraft, with the crew egress pathway exits comprising apparatuses, systems, and methods for reliable deployment and stowage of support straps within crew egress pathway exit hatches positioned, with crew egress pathway exit hatches configured to deploy within aircraft passenger compartments in aircraft.

Tuned Lighting
20190176988 · 2019-06-13 ·

A method and apparatus for managing lighting during different periods. Light is emitted from a lighting system comprised of light devices. Operation of the lighting system is controlled to create different light scenes comprising light with different spectral distributions during different periods.

Platform and guide panel for aircraft cabin egress

A system and method for exiting an overhead area in an aircraft. An egress apparatus is automatically moved from a closed state to an open state in response to opening a hatch that closes an opening in an overhead area in an aircraft. The apparatus comprises a platform attached to a substantially vertical structure by a first hinge structure. A guide panel is attached to the platform by a second hinge structure. The apparatus is configured to be moved from a closed state to an open state. The platform extends outward from the substantially vertical structure and under the opening in an overhead area in an aircraft when the apparatus is the open state. The guide panel extends upward from the platform when the apparatus is in the open state.

MODULAR SEAT
20190071182 · 2019-03-07 · ·

Disclosed is a modular seat for aircraft. The system has a frame that is able to be interconnected with other frames laterally. Since each lateral frame has the same pivot points (when viewed from the side), the linked seats rotate together. The seats also include buckle lugs which enable a particular seat to be used on either side of the aircraft.
