Torso Support System For Protecting Against Upward Accelerations In Vehicle Seats And Occupant Support Structures
An improved occupant restraint system is provided which includes a torso support unit that provides external support to an upper torso of an individual, who may be the occupant of a vehicle exposed to upward acceleration events. The torso support system provides support to the occupant's upper torso including rib cage, arm pit, upper arm and/or shoulder region. This support can be accomplished by one or more straps, one or more bars, one or more hooks or any other support device(s) that are connected to structure of the vehicle, such as a seat or standing platform, and in turn connected to the upper torso of the occupant to transfer upward vehicle forces to various parts of the upper torso independently of the forces transferred to the lower body such as the feet, legs and seat through other vehicle structure. With such a torso support system, when an upward acceleration event occurs, the compressive forces impinging on the occupant's spinal column are reduced wherein the likelihood of occupant paralysis or death due to spinal and other acceleration-induced injuries are significantly reduced.
Temporarily-installed aircraft observer door plug, chair, sonotube ejection and control system
In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a collapsible workstation assembly to be used in a temporarily-mounted control system of an aircraft. The collapsible workstation assembly is mounted to a floor of the aircraft via one or more mounting plates and one or more adaptive floor plates. The collapsible workstation assembly includes a number of modules for display and user controls. Each of the modules are connected via hinges and hinge locks to be moved between a deployed position for use and a stowed position when not in use. The collapsible workstation assembly is further connected to an observer chair assembly and a temporary door plug.
MODULAR MONOCOQUE BACKREST
A modular monocoque backrest is provided. The modular monocoque backrest may comprise a front shroud, a back shroud, and an at least one back spar. The front shroud may be coupled to the back shroud, and the back spar may be configured as a mounting point, enabling the modular monocoque backrest to mount to an aircraft floor. The front shroud and the back shroud may comprise a carbon fiber composite material, allowing the modular monocoque backrest to be modular in nature. The carbon fiber composite material may enable the modular monocoque backrest to have a lightweight design while also maintaining resistance to dynamic crash loads.
SEAT DEVICE
A seat device with a seat, in particular a flight passenger seat, with a seat belt and with at least one functional unit which at least substantially differs from a functional opening and closing unit of the seat belt.
The at least one functional unit is at least connected to the seat belt and/or is at least partly integrated in the seat belt.
Intelligent Aircraft Seat Belt System and Method
Seat belts, seat belt assemblies, seat belt systems, and methods for incorporating the seat belts, seat belt assemblies, and seat belt assembly systems are disclosed, with the seat belt including a seat belt locking mechanism sensor that, in tandem with a seat belt thermal sensor provides confirmatory information as to a definitive locking condition or locking state of a seat belt.
Vehicle occupant support
Child restraint system in a vehicle with features to support and ensconse the head and shoulders of an occupant during lateral impact to the vehicle.
Configurable vehicle seat and method therefor
An adjustable vehicle seat including a seat frame forming a seat back, the seat frame being configured to couple with an aerospace vehicle, and a seat pan coupled to the seat frame, where one or more of the seat frame and the seat pan is configured to couple the seat pan to the seat frame in one of a plurality of positions relative to the seat frame so that an eye position of a seat occupant relative to instrumentation within the aerospace vehicle is decoupled from a size of the seat occupant.
AIRCRAFT SEAT BACKREST WITH LIFESAVING FUNCTION
An aircraft seat backrest with a lifesaving function, including a backrest body and a back plate assembly, wherein a containing cavity is arranged in a front face of the backrest body, the back plate assembly includes a back plate covering the containing cavity and a lifesaving parachute pack that is arranged on a back face of the back plate and contained in the containing cavity, the back plate is fixedly connected with the backrest body through a quick release mechanism in a quickly separable manner, lifesaving straps of the lifesaving parachute pack pass through strap through holes in the back plate, and an occupant leans against the back plate and is connected with the back plate and the lifesaving parachute pack through the lifesaving straps when riding.
Inflight entertainment system using video object recognition to monitor seat areas and generate flight crew notifications
An object recognition computer for a vehicle includes at least one processor and at least one memory storing program code executable by the at least one processor to perform operations. The operations are configured to receive video streams from a plurality of cameras spaced apart within the vehicle and each having a field-of-view capturing at least one passenger seat. For each of the video streams, the operations retrieve from a data structure information that defines a region within video frames of the video stream where object recognition is to be performed to attempt to identify a defined object associated with the at least one passenger seat. The operations then perform object recognition limited to within the defined region to identify the defined object. Notifications can be selectively generated to passengers and/or crew based on the object recognition.
Aircraft passenger seat, and seat row
A passenger seat having a frame is proposed, wherein the frame is intended for securing to a floor of a passenger cabin, wherein the frame comprises a seat divider and beams that run transverse to the seat direction, wherein the seat divider is held by the beams, wherein a housing is disposed on the seat divider, wherein the housing at least partly surrounds a backrest. According to the invention, a structure component is disposed on the seat divider, with an attachment unit for a safety belt for a passenger disposed on the structure component.
