The canted leg assembly includes: (i) a front leg portion including a front joint clamp for receiving one of the plurality of laterally extending spar tubes in a non-perpendicular attachment point; and (ii) an aft leg portion including an aft joint clamp for receiving another one of the plurality of laterally extending spar tubes in a non-perpendicular attachment point, whereby the seat system is adapted to be laterally positioned and attached to provide different spaced apart passenger seating configurations. A seat back tray table may be attached to the back of the passenger seat frame.

Laminated rack assembly for powered motion of aircraft seats

A rack is made from a plurality of laminated layers. Each layer defines an alignment feature that allows all of the layers to be affixed to a base plate of an aircraft seat assembly and align the teeth of the rack to within five ten-thousandths of an inch. The rack includes a straight portion and a curved portion such that a pinion gear on the aircraft seat assembly can move the aircraft seat assembly along tracks with straight and curved portions.

The base has a contact surface for laying onto a cabin seat rail, a locking device for locking the base on the seat rail, and a holding device for releasably holding the retaining device. The slide device is designed to lock the retaining device on the holding device selectively in a first or a second position or to release the retaining device and, when the retaining device is released, to permit motion of the retaining device between the first and the second positions.
