The openings receive the supplement into a mouthguard and discharge the supplement from the mouthguard into a user's mouth. The supplement dispensing mouthguards may be worn during physical activity for protection and/or jaw alignment. Once a desired supplement has filled, been inserted, or placed within the mouthguard, the mouthguard is inserted into the user's mouth and the supplement is gradually and safely dispersed into the user's mouth through openings in the mouthguard.

When the at least one mandibular appliance is anchored to the human mandible and the at least one maxillary appliance is anchored to the human maxilla of a common jaw, the respective biasing members act between the at least one maxillary appliance and the at least one mandibular appliance to urge the at least one mandibular appliance inferiorly and anteriorly away from the at least one maxillary appliance with a force between about 250 grams at contact and about 1200 grams at contact.

Pad assemblies for a protective sports helmet

A pad assembly is provided for use with a protective sports helmet in a contact sport, the helmet having an opening. The pad assembly includes a pad member within a pad housing, and a retainer having a projection that fits within the helmet opening. The pad assembly also includes a cap detachably coupled to the retainer, the cap including a base portion that fits within the helmet opening and a flange portion that fits within a countersunk recess disposed around the helmet opening, the cap detachably receiving the projection of the retainer. A protective sports helmet having a pad assembly is also provided.

A mouth guard comprises a base member configured to fit inside the mouth of a user, and at least one shock-sensing and indicating device coupled to the base member. In one exemplary embodiment, the shock-sensing and indicating device is a passive shock-sensing and indicating device that detects a shock substantially along a selected axis with respect to the base member. In another exemplary embodiment, the at least one shock-sensing and indicating device detects a shock substantially along a plurality of selected axes with respect to the base member, each selected axis being substantially orthogonal from another selected axis. The shock-sensing and indicating devices can be configured to detect different levels of shock. In one exemplary embodiment, the shock-sensing and indicating device comprises a multi-component chemical-reaction system, such as a chemi-luminescent reaction system.
