EDGE PROTECTION MOUNTING IN A SYSTEM FOR SHEET COIL PACKAGING

An edge protection mounting device for use in a system for sheet coil packaging is provided. The edge protection mounting device includes a mounting arm arrangement including at least one edge protection material guide, configured to feed out and guide edge protection material into correct positions along at least one edge of a sheet coil. The at least one edge protection material guide is shaped to guide the edge protection material so that it is displaced sideways from the mounting arm arrangement. Further, a system for sheet coil packaging is provided, including a sheet coil wrapping arrangement, a sheet coil rotating arrangement, and two edge protection mounting devices. A method of sheet coil packaging is also provided, including wrapping a sheet coil using a sheet coil wrapping arrangement, and feeding out edge protection material along edges of the sheet coil using two edge protection mounting devices.

Method and apparatus for setting corner protectors on a load

A method and a system for setting corner protectors on a load. In operation of one embodiment, an actuator retrieves a two corner protectors from a corner protector storage and provides the corner protectors to a corner protector transferring and setting system. The corner protector transferring and setting system transfers the corner protectors to a side of the load furthest from the actuator and sets the corner protectors against the two adjacent vertically extending corners of that side of the load. The actuator retrieves another two corner protectors from the corner protector storage and sets the two corner protectors against the two vertically extending corners of a side of the load closest to the actuator. A wrapping machine then wraps a film around the corner protectors and the load, thereby securing the corner protectors in place.

STACKING AND STRAPPING SYSTEM FOR MATERIAL PACKAGES

A lumber stacking and strapping system can provide a single-station solution for both lumber stacking and package strapping. In addition, the package strapping system may apply multiple straps simultaneously to the package. For example, a package stacking and strapping system can provide not only a mechanism for formulating a package of lumber one layer at a time, but also a mechanism for lowering a completed package directly into a compression and strapping station, such as using the lumber stacker package accumulation hoist. The stacking and strapping system can then simultaneously apply strapping around the package in multiple positions along the length of the package, with bottom battens and top corner protectors further supplied and strapped into place as desired. A method for stacking and strapping a package in a single location is also provided.

Method for packing an article

A method for packing includes a preparing step, a moving step, a first time feeding strap step, an encircling article step, a first time tightening step, a second time feeding strap step, a manual inserting step, a second time tightening step, and a strap cutting and bonding step. A strap feeding and retreating control unit of the strapping machine is controlled to tighten the packing strap tightly around the article, and then the strap feeding and retreating control unit is controlled to automatically pull out the packing strap, so that two insertion spaces are created between the packing strap and the article. The two right-angle pad elements can be respectively inserted into the two insertion spaces. Then, the packing strap is tightened to tightly wrap around the article and the two right-angle pad elements. Next, the packing strap is cut and bonded to complete the packing action of the article.

The machine includes a movement system that is adapted for moving the operating unit and comprises a shuttle assembly movable along a path and arranged for supporting and moving the operating unit. The shuttle assembly and the conveying device are drivable in a coordinated manner in order to enable the operating unit to perform operations on the load wrapped with the film even while the load is moved along the advancing direction and out of the machine.

Corner board application system for loads and related methods

A system is provided for delivering one or more corner boards for application to one or more corners of a load. The system includes a magazine for receiving the one or more corner boards, the magazine including a loading end and a dispensing end. A pusher is provided for pushing the one or more corner boards towards the dispensing end of the magazine. A holder is also provided for holding the one or more corner boards in an upright position within the magazine, and a gate serves to engage at least one of the one or more corner boards adjacent the dispensing end for application to the one corner of the load. A control arrangement and related methods are also disclosed.

Corner post application system

A corner post application system for a load having corners includes corner post applicators and moveable corner post holders. The corner post applicators include a corner post gripper configured to grasp a corner post, with the corner post applicators configured to move the corner post to a corner of the load. The corner post holders each have a clamp and are moveable between a retracted position and an engaged position, where in the engaged position the clamp is configured to engage a respective corner post to press the corner post against the load at the respective corner. When the corner post holders are in the engaged position the corner post applicators are configured to be retracted with the corner posts being held in engagement with the corners of the load by the corner post holders to enable an enveloping machine to initiate placement of a film over the load.
