FOLDING DEVICE, PACKAGING FACILITY FOR ARTICLES, AND METHOD FOR FOLDING SIDE FLAPS OF EXTERNAL CARDBOARD PACKAGINGS

The invention relates to a folding device (10) for transporting an outer cardboard package (20) having folding lines and for folding at least one side flap (21) of the outer cardboard package (20). The folding device (10) comprises at least one conveyor system with a guiding unit (11) and with at least two transporting units (30) disposed on the guiding unit (11) for the transport of the outer cardboard packages (20) in a transport direction (TR). The at least two transporting units (30) are disposed in a row at the conveyor system and are transported in transport direction (TR) through and/or by the conveyor system. Each transporting unit (30) comprises an own, individually controllable drive (32) and further at least one folding unit (35) for folding over at least one side flap (21) of an outer cardboard package (20).

Bottle carrier and case packaging machine

A device, system, and method for loading empty and formed six-pack bottle carriers into a larger case (i.e. a multi-pack) is provided. The packaging device includes an upper portion and a lower portion. The six-pack carriers are formed by unfolding them in the upper portion. Various components are associated with the upper portion of the packaging device. The case receives a plurality of six-pack carriers therein. The larger cases is formed by unfolding them in the lower portion of the packaging device. Various components are associated with the lower portion of the packaging device. The upper portion and lower portion operate simultaneously to efficiently produce a case have empty six-pack carriers placed therein for later filling with bottles at a downstream destination. The system includes the machine, the cases, the six-pack carriers, and the bottles, operating collectively.

Various embodiments of a product packing apparatus are disclosed. Embodiments may include a rotating head assembly configured to selectively rotate all or a portion of unique feed lines, to generate a desired packaging configuration. For example, embodiments of the present approach may be used to package bottles or cans of various beverage varieties. A plurality of feedlines may direct beverage varieties towards a rotating head assembly. Each feedline may deliver a specific beverage variety. Depending on the desired packaging configuration, some feedlines may divert around the rotating head assembly, whereas others deliver beverage varieties in linear arrays to the rotating head assembly. The rotating head assembly rotates a select portion of the beverage varieties to generate a desired packaging configuration of beverage varieties.

METHODS AND MACHINE FOR PACKAGING PRIMARY CONTAINERS IN SECONDARY CONTAINERS AND A SHIPPING TRAY

A machine for filling a secondary container with a plurality of primary containers is provided. The machine includes a frame, a secondary container filling section coupled to the frame and configured to position the primary containers within the secondary container, and a first rail member coupled to the frame. The first rail member includes a chain, a support rail that extends in a longitudinal direction between a supply source of secondary containers and the secondary container filling section, and at least one longitudinally extending interface surface coupled to the support rail and configured to receive the chain, such that the chain is movable in the longitudinal direction. The first rail member also includes an articulated chain cover secured to, and movable with, the chain, the articulated chain cover defining a support surface on which the secondary containers are conveyable between the supply source and the secondary container filling section.

Row-forming device, row-forming methods and bottle handling installation

A row-forming device (10) together with processes form a bottle row (8) from a bottle layer (7). The row-forming device (10) is configured to pick up and transport away, in rows, the respectively frontmost layer row (61) of the bottle layer (7) moved in a conveying direction (60), in a transverse transport direction (72). One or more layer conveyors (59) moves the bottle row (7) in a conveying direction (60) and adjoins the transport device (62), which has a plurality of parallel conveyor belts (63, 66) that extend in the transport direction (72) and are driven independently and also exhibit mutually different transport speeds. The transport device (62) has a guide strip (68) oriented obliquely to the transport direction (72). The guide strip (68) extends over a part of the conveyor belts (63, 66) and is arranged downstream of the layer conveyor (59) in the transport direction (72).
