The object of the invention is to realize an apparatus for automatically and precisely filling single containers in succession with a pre-defined amount of products; each container is filled with two distinct loads of products, wherein the first load is determined according to its weight roughly measured, and the second load is determined numerically based on the difference between said first load and a pre-defined conventional weight; the apparatus comprises a first conveyor, a second conveyor loaded automatically with the products transported by the first conveyor, a third conveyor which is loaded with the agricultural products transported by the second conveyor and that transfers the products poured and present onto it inside a succession of single containers, weighing means able of weighing the total weight of the products on the whole present on the second conveyor, wherein the third conveyor is able of transferring the products poured and present on it in a succession of single containers; there is arranged a fourth conveying means preferably “V”-shaped and able of pouring a numerically controlled quantity of similar products onto the third conveying means, which, in the end, pours it onto a container below with a motion of going on and partial rotation.

PACKAGE FOR PRESERVING RESPIRING PRODUCE AND METHOD

A package for preserving respiring produce contained in the package, in particular vegetables, fruit, herbs, spices and/or flowers, and an associated method are provided. The package defines a package volume for containing a portion of the produce and a package atmosphere, and comprises a packaging material, in particular a polymer film (1A), provided with at least one perforation (3) enabling gas exchange with the atmosphere surrounding the package (1) to form the package into a Controlled Atmosphere Package (CAP). The packaging material has a Water Vapour Transmission Rate (WVTR), a carbon dioxide transmission rate (CO.sub.2TR) and an oxygen transmission rate (O.sub.2TR), wherein the WVTR of the packaging material is in a range of 50-1200 ml/(m.sup.2.Math.24 hrs), the CO.sub.2TR of the packaging material is larger than 1000 ml/(m.sup.2.Math.24 hrs), and a ratio β=CO.sub.2TR/O.sub.2TR of the packaging material is larger than 4.

A method and a device are disclosed for making thin plastic films having two or more layers, which are subdivided and separated in the form of tubular bags for portioned reception of different products, wherein the plastic films are provided with welding seams running substantially transversely to the longitudinal direction with predetermined spacing between one another to form bag-like containers, and the containers are separated from one another by a cutting or separating process, the method being characterized by the steps: a) welding the films with predetermined spacing by means of an ultrasound welding process, maintaining a defined, film-dependent distance between a processing tool and a counter tool while welding; and b) separating the tubular bags welded in this way by means of a mechanical cutting process, with or without reduced ultrasound excitation at the point of the respective weld seams.

Embodiments of the invention provide a packaging tray for use in packaging items, the tray having a first region having a cross-section which defines a concave surface having one or more cross-sections suitable to receive an item and a second region having a cross-section which is substantially straight. Embodiments provide a process in which tray may be loaded by depositing kiwi fruit and then agitated to settle and align the kiwifruit in the concave sections assisted with the straight sections providing space for movement of the kiwifruit laterally to the concave sections and directing the kiwifruit of the agitated tray towards the concave section. The tray is wrapped after the items are deposited and the wrapped tray is loaded into a box with settled items and loads the wrapped tray into a box.

A method of manufacturing a modified atmosphere package is provided which comprises the steps of: providing a portion of packaging material; providing a portion of produce; forming, from the portion of packaging material and the portion of produce, a closed package defining a package volume and containing in the package volume the portion of produce and a modified atmosphere. The modified atmosphere is modified with respect to the ambient atmosphere. The method comprises providing the modified atmosphere in the package volume by providing a gas mixture of at least one atmosphere modification gas and pressurised air in the package volume. If at least a portion of an umbilicus is detected in at least one initial image (II) and no longer detected in each subsequent image (IU), the first orientation phase is stopped and the method is continued.

The first robot includes a hand unit and an arm adjusting three-dimensional coordinates and an inclination of the hand unit with respect to a conveyance direction. The first controller controls an operation of the arm to move the hand unit in correspondence with the information relating to the conveyance state and causes the hand unit to adsorb the article, when the article reaches an operation range of the first robot.
