METHOD FOR PACKAGING A SPECTACLE LENS
20200262163 · 2020-08-20 ·

Disclosed is a method for packaging an optical lens including two faces and a peripheral edge, at least one of the faces having a convexity marked by a peak point, the method including the following steps: a step of depositing a protective strip made from a rigid material at least partially along the edge, the width of the strip extending beyond the peak point of the convex face of the lens; a step of inserting the lens into an envelope delimited by a wall; a step of positioning the lens in the envelope, such that the protective strip acts as a spacer in order to maintain a distance between the wall of the envelope and the convex face of the lens and thus preventing any contact between the wall and the face.

Injecting dunnage into a closed item shipping container

Described are systems, methods, and apparatus for injecting dunnage into a container after an item has been placed in the container and the container has been sealed or otherwise closed. A dunnage injection apparatus is configured to penetrate a surface of the sealed container and expel gas and dunnage into an interior space of the container. The gas fills the expelled dunnage forming gas-filled pouches of dunnage that fill voids within the interior space of the container and secure and protect the item within the container.

Positioning Unit and Attachment Unit for Container Element

The present disclosure relates to a positioning unit for positioning a container element in a container body comprising a base plate of a rigid material, and a plunger skirt of a resiliently deformable material. A footprint surface of the base plate has a circumferential edge with a side edge portion comprising an inwardly curved segment. The plunger skirt is transformable between an unexpanded state and an expanded state by relative movement in relation to the base plate.

The disclosure further relates to an attachment unit for attaching a container element to a container body and to an apparatus for attaching container elements to container bodies in a flow of containers. In addition, the disclosure relates to a method of positioning a container element in a container body by means of the positioning unit.
