END CLOSURE WITH DOUBLE ANTI-MISSILE SCORE
20170021962 · 2017-01-26 ·

An end closure for food and beverage containers provides controlled opening characteristics to prevent the unintentional missiling of a tear panel. The end closure comprises a score line that defines a portion of the tear panel, and the end closure may comprise one or more anti-missile features that inhibit the propagation of a fracture down a score line, which reduces the likelihood that a tear panel will inadvertently detach from the end closure and injure the user or another.

TAMPER EVIDENT PLASTIC FOOD CONTAINER
20170001767 · 2017-01-05 · ·

A tamper evident container comprises a lid and a base. The lid includes a lid rim having a lid rim flange. The base includes a base rim having a base rim flange. A frangible hinge is formed between a top pinch segment peripherally projecting from the lid rim flange and a bottom pinch segment peripherally projecting from the base rim flange. The frangible hinge is configured to rupture when the container is in the initially sealed arrangement by the application of a pinching force to the top pinch segment and bottom pinch segment that results in the relative vertical movement of the segments toward each other. As compared to the prior art, the container hinges about a frangible vertex instead of hinging about a square-shaped structure.

AEROSOL CAP WITH RUPTURE LINE

An aerosol cap for placement on an aerosol container is made of a plastic material by injection moulding and includes a cap body having a circumferential wall and having an open bottom end to be placed on and connected with the aerosol container. The cap furthermore includes an actuator including a dispensing opening and a tubular member. A push button is associated with the actuator and has a front side, and a hinge portion integrally connects the push button with the cap body. The hinge portion defines a hinge axis. The aerosol cap has a center plane extending perpendicularly through the hinge axis. The aerosol cap has an injection gate in the push button. The circumferential wall of the cap body has one rupture line which extends from a top end of the cap body towards a bottom end of the cap body, where the rupture line is at least partially offset from the center plane.

Container

A container comprises a product contained in a packaging, wherein the packaging comprises a paper material and the product comprises at least two substantially dimensionally stable, cuboid-shaped bodies. The packaging comprises a blister card and a cuboid-shaped blister cover arranged on the blister card, both the blister card and the blister cover being made of the paper material and the at least two bodies substantially completely filling the blister cover. The packaging may further comprise a material weakening functioning as a bend line which extends both over the blister cover and the blister card and runs in a plane lying between the at least two cuboid-shaped bodies such that the packaging can be broken open by bending the container along the bend line to remove the product from the packaging. The product contained in the packaging acts as a lever when the packaging is opened.

Packaging coating containing water-dispersible acrylic block copolymer
12466973 · 2025-11-11 · ·

A food or beverage container having a body portion or an end portion that includes a metal substrate with a coating composition disposed thereon. The coating composition includes a water-dispersible acrylic linear block copolymer made by surfactant-free heterogeneous radical polymerization (SFHRP). The block copolymer imparts a desirable combination of flexibility and corrosion resistance to the coating composition, and the substantial absence of surfactants during polymerization contributes to other desirable properties including good blush resistance.

End cap with score line for controlled flap opening and method therefor

An end cap including an end cap body made of a relatively thin metal material. The end cap has a main score line formed in the end cap body and defining a flap area. The end cap further includes a tab coupled to the end cap body and having an end positioned adjacent to the flap area. The end cap has a control score line positioned adjacent to the main score line, where the control score line is curved or arcuate along at least part of its length, and has end portions that are parallel or substantially parallel.

END CAP WITH SCORE LINE FOR CONTROLLED FLAP OPENING, AND METHOD AND TOOLING THEREFOR

An assembly including an end cap having an end cap body having a rivet opening, a tab having a rivet opening, and a rivet extending through the rivet opening of the end cap body and the rivet opening of the tab, thereby coupling the tab to the end cap body. The end cap further includes a main score line formed in the end cap body and defining a flap. The main score line is configured to be torn along its length in a downstream direction to enable the flap to pivot about a hinge area. The main score line extends from a first side of at least one of the rivet openings to a second side of the at least one of the rivet openings in the downstream direction. A portion of the main score line, located on the second side of the at least one rivet opening, does not intersect a tangent line located at a bottom of the at least one rivet opening, or does not extend upwardly beyond the tangent line by more than 3/1000.
