SECURE DISPOSAL BAGS
A disposal bag (1) is disclosed of generally rectangular two-layer construction, with the layers sealed together at their edges on three sides of the rectangle (2, 3, 4). The side walls of the bag are overlaid on the openable side of the bag with extensions (5) which taper inwardly from the edges of the bag and extend outwardly to overlie the outer walls of the bag. The narrower end of each extension (5) is securely fastened to the exterior side wall of the bag at a position (6) so as to form a tunnel (7) each side of the bag into which the thumb and at least one finger may be inserted. At least one of the inside walls of the bag, at the open end of the bag or slightly inset from the open end of the bag, carries a continuous stripe of adhesive material, overlaid by a peel-off strip (9) of release-coated material. The adhesive material is of such a nature that once the peel-off strip (9) has been removed and the sides of the bag are brought into contact with one another, they bond together immediately to seal the disposal bag. The bag is of particular use for disposal of ostomy bags, tampons, sanitary or incontinence towels, catheters and condoms.
Non-metallic tie
A non-metallic tie, for example a twist-tie or a tin-tie, comprises a polymeric material melt-blending from a composition containing (a) from about 50 to about 80 wt % of at least one matrix-forming thermoplastic polymer which is amorphous or becomes amorphous when melted, and (b) from about 20 to about 50 wt % of at least one elastomeric polymer which has a flexural modulus of less than 700 MPa and a glass transition temperature less than 25 C., based on the combined weight of (a) and (b). The tie is characterized by tensile elongation at break according to ASTM D638-00 of from about 20 to about 100; and a dead fold angle equal to or less than about 30, as determined by a method including the steps of (i) providing a sample of the twist tie having two end portions, a thickness of 1-2 mm and a length of about 100 mm; (ii) folding the sample approximately in half in the lengthwise direction so that end portions are approximately adjacent to each other; (iii) relaxing the folded sample at room temperature for three minutes; and (iv) measuring as the dead fold angle the included angle between the article sample end portions.
Reusable bag clamp with reciprocating blade
An improved bag clamp comprises a first jaw member and a second jaw member. The first jaw member has an opening in a clamping surface thereof and the second jaw member a blade reciprocatingly mounted therein. A hinge couples the first jaw member and the second jaw member. The clamp is moveable between an open configuration in which the first jaw member and second jaw member are angularly spaced and a closed configuration in which the opening in the first jaw member is aligned with the blade of the second jaw member.
Resealable bag with cutting mechanism
A sealing and cutting assembly for engaging a bag to cut and reseal the bag comprises a first sealing strip and a second sealing strip connected at corresponding ends thereof and engaging both sides the bag therebetween. A slider block is movable along the first sealing strip and the second sealing strip. Movement of the slider block in a first direction bringing the first sealing strip and the second sealing strip into sealing engagement with one another to seal the bag, and movement of the slider block in a second direction releasing the first sealing strip and the second sealing strip from said sealing engagement to open the bag. A cutting mechanism mounted on the slider block, wherein the cutting mechanism moves with the slider block along the first sealing strip and the second sealing strip.
Closure assembly for a bag and a method of closing the bag
A closure assembly for a bag, comprises, a first closure having a first longitudinal member, the first longitudinal member having a first end and a second end, the longitudinal member being provided with a clamping arrangement adapted to clamp a bag, the clamping arrangement comprising a first clamp at the first end and a second clamp at the second end, wherein, a bottom surface of the longitudinal member comprises two edges adapted to be separated under force and snap into a closed position elastically, wherein the first clamp and the second clamp are adapted to limit the separation between the two edges and a second closure having a second longitudinal member, the second longitudinal member having a hollow cross section defining a cavity adapted to receive the first closure.
Bags and bag-dispensing devices and methods of using same
Methods, apparatuses, and systems for dispensing a bag which are configured to receive and retain one or more objects. Some bag dispenser embodiments can comprise a pair of guiderails angled toward each other so that a bag positioned between the two guiderails can slide along guiderails to press open the mouth of bag. Other dispensers can comprise a pair of guiderails that are parallel. Other embodiments of the present disclosure comprise bags that are configured for use with the dispenser. Still other embodiments are described.
Bag closure system and associated methods
A bag closure system includes a bag having a top end and a bottom end, and an elastic band having an anchored end and a free end, where the anchored end is fixed proximate the bottom end of the bag. The free end of the elastic band is configured to be stretched around the top end and the bottom end of the bag while the anchored end remains fixed proximate to the bottom end. The elastic band may be made of natural rubber and a permanent adhesive or thermal bond may be used to fix the anchored end proximate the bottom end of the bag. In addition, a visual fold line may be provided diagonally at each of the corners of the bag, and a visual first lateral fold line and a spaced apart visual second lateral fold line provided on the body of the bag.
