The treadmill also includes a first post extending from the deck, a second post extending from the deck opposite the first post, and a first arm supported by the first post and including a first rotary control. The treadmill further includes a second arm opposite the first arm and supported by the second post. The second arm includes a second rotary control separate from the first rotary control. The first rotary control is configured to control a first function of the treadmill and the second rotary control is configured to control a second function of the treadmill different from the first function.

The system analyzes current and past performance and generates new training performance output goals in real-time based on the user's current performance. The system then transmits coaching output during a live training session instructing the user on how to adjust their performance output during a current training session. Some embodiments include connecting to smart gym apparatus which connect to the system and automatically increase/decrease resistance/speed depending on the system determining a need to change performance output for maximum gains.

Attached to the person is a harness configured to apply a horizontal force to the person. A work rate for the person can be calculated based at least in part on the magnitude of the horizontal force applied by the harness and the velocity of the belt. The maximum oxygen consumption for the person can then be calculated based at least in part on the previously calculated work rate.

In one aspect, a method of operating a wearable device may involve determining that a user of the wearable device has started an exercise, activating the GPS receiver in response to determining that the user has started the exercise, and detecting a time at which the GPS receiver achieves an initial GPS fix of a location of the wearable device. The method may further involve logging, based on output of the one or more biometric sensors, a first set of user data during a first time interval between the start of the exercise and the detected time of the initial GPS fix, and back-filling an exercise route of the user during the first time interval based on the first set of user data.
