Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to caps, closures, seals, and containers, and control of flow of fluids. Certain embodiments can be used with fluids related to machinery, for instance, engine oil, brake fluid, coolant, transmission fluid, and power steering fluid. Certain embodiments of the present disclosure effectively hold and transfer a fluid or a fluid substance, further being able to open, close, and regulate fluid flow. Embodiments include a single piece tubular component that includes a cap interiorly attached to such tubular component with ribs, and a container having a tapered end. In certain embodiments, a nozzle having a tapered end is adapted to attach to a container.

PRESSURE EQUALIZATION APPARATUS FOR A BOTTLE AND METHODS ASSOCIATED THEREWITH
20180134449 · 2018-05-17 ·

A device that assists with equalizing air pressure within a bottle with the atmospheric air pressure as liquid is being poured from the bottle and includes one or more relatively short air tubes. The air tubes are situated with an upper inlet rim of the air tubes located flush with or relatively near the bottle rim. Whether an insert or integrated into the manufacture of a container, the one or more air tubes that extend partially into the container allow air to pass into the container as the liquid exits the container. The pressure equalizer not only minimizes or prevents the common glugging effect, but it allows liquid from a bottle to be poured smoothly at any angle and orientation. A cap incorporating a detachable pressure equalizer is also described.

Flow reduction attachment for storage vessel
09969538 · 2018-05-15 · ·

This is a new and useful improvement to liquid and dry product containers, modifying the flow rate of delivery. The user sandwiches the invention between the cap and existing vessel, which reduces the delivery rate of the product from the container when poured by the user. The invention conserves product quantity and reduces loss in an accidental spill. The invention is designed to fit a variety of containers. The invention is designed to dispense different products at desired flow rates. The invention is designed to be modified for specific applications. The invention can be reused after the vessel is emptied, thus conserving production material. The improvement is obvious because it benefits the consumer, not the manufacturers.

A storing device or container having a first end with an opening and a second end opposite to the first end, the opening being configured to be adjustable to control an amount of soluble material passing through the opening, and an attachment means for attaching the first end of the container to a vessel. The soluble material may be deposited into the storing device through at least one of the first end or second end. The storing device further includes one or more means for dispensing the soluble material into the vessel to mix with liquid within the vessel.

Combined lid and strainer device for a paint container
12134282 · 2024-11-05 ·

A combined lid and strainer device for a paint container features an outer mounting rim configured for mated fitting onto a rim of the paint container. Within a central circular area surrounded by the rim, there is a perforated a straining area through which paint is pourable. A movable cover is selectively movable between a closed position overlying the perforated straining area, and open positions withdrawn therefrom to allow strained pouring of the paint therethrough. Raised features on the cover are used to secure the cover closed when the lidded container is placed in a paint shaker. A sealing membrane is used, at least initially, seal the perforated area in air-tight fashion to maintain paint freshness. Securement features are usable to secure the flap in both closed and open positions.

Cup lid apparatus
09930981 · 2018-04-03 ·

A cup lid for use with a drinking cup containing a liquid, the cup having a base and a sidewall extending upwardly from the base, the sidewall including an inner surface, a top end, and a rim extending along the circumference of the top end. A first part lying in a first plane and having a top surface. Means on said first part for releasably mounting said first part to the top end of the cup to form a substantially liquid tight seal between the cup lid and the cup. A second part depends radially outwardly from said first part and lies in a second plane. A longitudinal axis and a distal end on said second part. Means on the second part for movement relative to said first part. Compartment means is formed between the inner surface of the cup and the second part for allowing liquid in the cup to flow into the compartment and out of the compartment. The second part comprises baffle means for shielding the liquid in the compartment means from substantial interference with most of the liquid outside the compartment means during movement of the cup whereby spillage of liquid out of the cup is minimized. Hinge means on the second part and traversing the second part for preventing the tearing of the second part during the movement of the second part. A tab on said first part for movement from a first position where the tab is mounted on the rim of the cup to prevent the liquid from escaping from the compartment and a second position where the tab is not mounted on the rim to allow the liquid to escape from the compartment. A reservoir located on the bottom surface of the lid and comprising a hollow inside volume which is covered when the tab is in the first position and which is at least partially covered when the tab is in the second position. A structure is on the top surface of the second part which interferes with the flow of the liquid as it moves into the compartment and out of the compartment. A clasp located on the bottom surface of the first part of the cup lid. The clasp comprises means for releasably holding the distal end of the second part when the second part is moved from it second position near the bottom surface of the first part.
