Probiotic canning system
A canning system for a jar is described. The system includes a plunger configured to translate through a neck of the jar. A seal is in communication with the plunger and configured to flex its shape so as to conform to the size of the jar as it passes through the neck. The seal extending beyond the periphery of the plunger. A rod is configured to engage the plunger and selectively locate the position of the plunger within the jar. An optional cap may be used to assist in locating the plunger in the jar prior to sealing the jar with a lid.
Closure with a surface tension seal
A closure for a glass container arranged to contain flowable content, the container defining a first extremely flat annular surface, the closure comprising a sealing disc made of hard material adapted to sit across the annular surface, the disc defining a second extremely flat surface, retaining means to urge the first and second extremely flat surfaces into parallel abutting contact and to prevent lateral movement of the disc relative to the first surface, the extremely flat surfaces adapted to form a surface tension seal when they are urged into parallel abutting contact wherein a wetting agent is provided between the extremely flat surfaces at the abutting contact of the surfaces.
COATED METAL CLOSURES
A metal closure (1) comprising a panel (10) and a depending side wall (14) terminating in a cut edge (15), the inner surface of the closure having a plurality of coating layers applied (21-27) such that at least one of the coating layers extends to the cut edge and the coating thickness at and in proximity to the cut edge is less than the thickness at one or more other regions of the inner surface.
Container closure
A closure for mounting on top of bottles and other containers includes a floating lid and a lid-retainer ring. The closure is configured to withstand a high pressure and high temperature sterilization process known as retort.
CONTAINER CLOSURE
Closure for a container mouth, the closure comprising: a cover portion (18) for covering at least a portion of the container mouth; a fastener portion (20) for engaging the container for fastening the closure to the container; and a peelable bracing portion (22) extending generally in a circumferential direction of or around an axis of the closure, the bracing portion overlapping at least partly the cover portion and the fastener portion, and configured to reinforce the closure by bearing, as shear stress at an interface between the bracing portion and at least one of the cover portion and fastener portion, support force in or between one or both of the cover portion and the fastener portion.
Closure For A Package
A closure comprises a polymeric top wall portion, a polymeric annular skirt portion, a polymeric liner and a polymeric disc. The polymeric annular skirt portion depends from the polymeric top wall portion. The annular skirt portion includes an internal thread formation for mating engagement with an external thread formation of a container. The polymeric disc has an exterior surface. The polymeric disc is located between the polymeric top wall portion and the polymeric liner. The polymeric disc includes a plurality of channels formed therein. The plurality of channels assists in allowing liquid to travel on the exterior surface of the polymeric disc and between the polymeric annular skirt portion and an external finish of a container.
Closure For A Package
A closure includes a polymeric top wall portion, a polymeric liner, a polymeric disc and a polymeric annular skirt portion. The polymeric disc is located between the polymeric top wall portion and the polymeric liner. The polymeric annular skirt portion depends from the polymeric top wall portion. The annular skirt portion includes: (1) an internal thread formation for mating engagement with an external thread formation of a container; and (2) an internal prying projection to assist in removing the closure from the container. At least a portion of the internal prying projection is located nearer the polymeric top wall portion than the internal thread formation.
Mason jar lid
A two-piece mason jar lid is described, with said mason jar lid capable of being secured to a mason jar in the typical manner using a threaded band or ring. The two-piece mason jar lid includes an annular lid component and a circular lid component that can be rotatably disposed within the annular lid component. Indicia and indicators disposed on the annular lid component and circular lid component work in cooperation, such that rotation of the circular lid component causes the indicator to be aligned with the desired indicia, to, for example, indicate a date upon which fermentation within the mason jar may be complete. The annular lid component or circular lid component can also include one or more venting channels to permit venting of fermentation gases, while preventing air from entering the mason jar.
Composite closure with seal indicating panel
A composite closure including a panel and an outer portion defining a recess into which the panel is received. The composite closure may be coupled with a container. The panel deflects downward toward the container when the composite closure is sealed with the container and the interior of the container is under vacuum.
Closure for container
A canister includes a container and a closure. The container is formed to include a product-storage region and an open mouth that opens into the product-storage region. The closure is configured to couple to the container to close the open mouth.
