Multi-layer one-way valve for packaging
A multi-layer one-way valve (100) includes: a first layer (10) having at least one first opening (12) formed therein; a second layer (20) having at least one second opening (22) formed therein; and, a third layer (30). The first and second layers are joined together such that at least one first channel (14) is defined therebetween, and the second and third layers are joined together such that at least one second channel (24) is defined therebetween. Additionally, an amount of flow-able liquid is deposited in the first channel between the first and second openings. Suitably, the valve selectively opens to permit gas flow through the first and second channels in response to a pressure differential, the rate of gas flow through the valve is exponentially proportional to the pressure differential.
Lidding device
Embodiments of the present invention provide a three-panel lidding device used to seal a food container. Such devices are particularly useful for covering and sealing a plastic food container, eliminating (or diminishing) the need for an outer carton and the clear film membrane that traditionally covers a food container. The lidding device may contain all brand identifiers, product messaging, ingredient list, instructions (e.g., opening and cooking) printed directly on the device. The device may also allow for venting of the food container during cooking and may then be removed for serving. The device may further provide a foot panel that allows the food product container/lidding device to sit upright, enhancing store front and freezer display options.
Fermented food packing pouch, fermented food packing method using same, and packing pouch
One or more embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a pouch for packaging fermented foods, a method of packaging fermented foods using the same, and a pouch for packaging.
Compositions and methods for improved packaging and storage of dry foodstuffs
Provided herein is a degassing valve for a foodstuff product including a valve body, a one-way valve element positioned on the valve body, and a filter associated with said valve body wherein the filter is configured to facilitate the passage of a gas. The gas may be selected from the group consisting of carbon dioxide, oxygen, nitrogen, and methane. Additionally, the gas may be a longer molecular chain gas that comprises the aroma of the product. The filter of the valve body may include activated charcoal, an activated charcoal mixture or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, the foodstuff product comprises breadcrumbs, spices, or other flavorful dry foods, the aroma(s) of which can provide an important marketing benefit.
PLASTIC FILM AND PACKAGING USING THE PLASTIC FILM
A multi ply plastic film to create a heat-sealed enclosure for food to be heated inside the enclosure save for a region of the heat-seal where a vent-opening can be established to allow gas and/or steam to escape the enclosure during heating of the food. The film has a primary panel to create the enclosure by heat sealing to itself or a separate panel or to a peripheral lip of a container There is also provided a release panel applied to said primary panel to be located intermediate of and to prevent the primary panel being heat-sealed to itself or peripheral lip at the peripheral heat-sealed region for the vent-opening to thereat be established.
SEALABLE VACUUM LUGGAGE BAG
A vacuum bag is disclosed. The vacuum bag may include a body. The body may include a plastic layer and a fabric layer. The plastic layer and the fabric layer may be welded together on at least one portion of the body. The vacuum bag may further include a seal bar and a valve.
Valve for a flexible packaging with an aerating and/or venting opening and method for aerating and/or venting a flexible packaging
The invention relates to a valve (4) for a flexible packaging (1), comprising a valve housing (11) to be connected to an aerating and/or venting opening (6) of the packaging and having a first opening (22) and an opposite second opening (35), and a flexible membrane (24) movable between a position which closes the first opening and a position which leaves the first opening clear. The valve is provided with guide means (28) for guiding the movement of the membrane, wherein there is space (40) in the housing adjacently of the membrane for the purpose of forming a passage between the first and second opening when the membrane takes up-its open position. The invention also relates to a flexible packaging with an aerating and/or venting opening and a valve arranged therein. The invention further relates to an assembly of an aerating and/or venting device and such a valve. The invention also relates to a method for evacuating a flexible packaging via a venting opening while making use of such a valve and a venting device connected thereto. The invention finally relates to a method for flushing a flexible packaging with gas via an aerating and/or venting opening by making use of such a valve and an aerating and/or venting device connected thereto.
BAG-IN-KEG CONTAINER WITH FIXED PRESSURE PRV
A bag-in-keg container for a carbonated beverage has a container body C, a flexible bag B within the container body, and a valve closure V attached to the container body. The valve closure includes a gas inlet port (11), a liquid dispensing port (12), and spring-loaded valve member (6) to sealably close the gas inlet and liquid dispensing ports. An adapter (20) sealingly attached to the flexible bag B incorporates a bag PRV (26) to vent gas pressure from within the flexible bag. A container PRV (40) vents gas pressure from between the container body C and the flexible bag B. The bag PRV has a valve shuttle with one side exposed to gas pressure within the flexible bag B and an opposite side exposed to gas pressure within a sealed plenum chamber (37). The bag PRV therefore operates at a fixed pressure independent of the differential pressure between the bag and the outer container. This solves the problem of venting excess pressure within the keg whilst still allowing the dispensing gas to achieve the equilibrium
MICROWAVE COOKING PACKAGE
Microwave cooking packages suitable for use as microwave popcorn packages include at least one panel (e.g., first and second panels) formed of a vertically rigid material. A flexible portion is attached to the panels. The flexible portion may be formed of a polyester film material such as a biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film, which may be at least partially transparent. The flexible portion (and panels) defines a bag construction configured to contain a popcorn charge and to be expandable between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration when the popcorn charge is subjected to a popping operation. The microwave cooking package may include a vent assembly configured to at least partially open when the bag configuration is in an expanded configuration to vent the bag construction. The vent assembly includes a first portion a second portion of the bag construction that is configured to be folded against the first portion.
COFFEE BEAN PACKAGE ASSEMBLY
Some examples described herein include coffee bean packaging assemblies that integrate a packaging body with a grinding mechanism (e.g., a burr grinder). The example coffee bean assemblies described provide storage advantages (e.g., coffee beans and grinders do not need to be separately stored and located when wanting to dispense freshly ground coffee), as well as travel advantages (e.g., a separate coffee grinder does not need to be remembered packed when traveling)
