Insulation packaging for thermal insulation and/or shock absorption made from straw and/or hay
The invention relates to a method for producing an insulating packaging for thermal insulation and/or shock absorption, and a packaging of this type. According to the invention, straw or hay or a mixture of the two is plasticized; the plasticized straw and/or hay is subjected to moulding; while maintaining the moulding, the plasticization is reversed and the straw and/or hay is hardened without material bonding between the individual stalks of straw and/or hay; and the straw and/or hay is provided with a coating on all sides. By this means, an insulating packaging is created consisting of one or more insulating cores (1) made of pressed straw and/or hay and at least one coating (2), wherein the insulating core (1) is designed to be dimensionally stable and providing the shape without bonded connection between the individual stalks of hay and/or straw, and the insulating core (1) is completely surrounded by a coating (2) which is only connected by interlocking without additional connecting elements with the insulating core (1).
Insulated box
A method for insulating a box including positioning at least one insulation batt in facing contact with at least one side panel of an inner cardboard layer, the at least one side panel at least partially defining an inner cavity; and adhesively coupling the at least one insulation batt to the at least one side panel, the at least one insulation batt at least partially insulating the inner cavity.
Thermoplastic packaging insulation products and methods of making and using same
Packaging insulation for insertion into a packaging container, which includes an air laid thermoplastic fibrous batt having foldable thermoplastic film material adhered to both sides of the batt. Preferably the thermoplastic material of which the fibers and film are made is the same, and most preferably it is PET. The resulting method and product provides packaging insulation which can be shipped flat and compressed, which expands when unpacked and which can be readily folded to match the interior configuration of a shipping container, such as a cardboard box.
INSULATED BOX
A method for assembling an insulated box assembly includes positioning an inner corrugated portion and an insulated layer between a plurality of side portions of an outer corrugated portion, the inner corrugated portion including a plurality of side panels hingedly coupled together, the insulated layer extending around the plurality of side panels, the insulated layer coupled to the inner corrugated portion, the insulated layer positioned between the inner corrugated portion and the outer corrugated portion, the insulated layer including at least one insulation batt, the plurality of side panels defining a top end and a bottom end of the inner corrugated portion, a bottom panel being positioned at the bottom end below the insulated layer, the plurality of side panels and the bottom panel at least partially defining a cavity, an opening to the cavity being defined at the top end, and enclosing the cavity with a top.
INSULATED BOX
An insulated box assembly includes an insulated box, the insulated box including a box, the box including a bottom panel and a side panel, the side panel attached to the bottom panel, the box defining a box cavity; and an insulated panel attached to the side panel, the insulated panel including an insulation batt and a sheet, the insulation batt enclosed between the side panel and the sheet; and an insulated cavity panel, the insulated cavity panel disposed within the box cavity, the insulated cavity panel including a cavity sheet and a cavity insulation batt, the cavity sheet encapsulating the cavity insulation batt.
INSULATED BOX
A method for insulating a box includes positioning an insulated panel adjacent to a side panel of the box, the insulated panel including an insulation batt and a sheet, the insulated panel defining a border extending around a perimeter of the insulation batt; and attaching a seam of the border to a portion of a perimeter area of the side panel.
Insulated box
An insulated box includes a box, the box including a bottom panel and a side panel, the side panel attached to the bottom panel; and an insulated panel attached to the side panel, the insulated panel including an insulation batt and a sheet, the insulation batt enclosed between the side panel and the sheet.
BOX DEFINING WALLS WITH INSULATION CAVITIES
A box including a side wall including an outer side panel; a connecting strip coupled to the outer side panel by a first fold line; and an inner side panel coupled to the connecting strip by a second fold line, a side insulation cavity at least partially defined by the outer side panel, the connecting strip, and the inner side panel, the inner side panel at least partially defining an interior cavity within the box; a side insulation pad positioned within the side insulation cavity; a bottom wall including an outer bottom panel coupled to the outer side panel by a third fold line; and an inner bottom panel coupled to the inner side panel by a fourth fold line, a bottom insulation cavity defined between the outer bottom panel and the inner bottom panel; and a bottom insulation pad positioned within the bottom insulation cavity.
BOX DEFINING WALLS WITH INSULATION CAVITIES
A method of assembling a box from a blank including obtaining a blank including a plurality of outer side panels, the outer side panels connected to each other by a plurality of fold lines, a plurality of outer bottom panels each joined to each of the outer side panels by a fold line, a plurality of connecting strips each joined to each of the outer side panels by a fold line, a plurality of inner side panels each joined to each of the connecting strips by a fold line, and a plurality of inner bottom panels each joined to each of the inner side panels by a fold line; and joining the outer side panels at opposite ends such that the outer side panels form a ring.
Liner
