Packaging unit from a moulded pulp material with elevated lock and method for manufacturing such packaging unit
A packaging unit from a moulded pulp material and a manufacturing method therefor. The packaging unit comprises a bottom part with product receiving compartments and a number of cones that are provided between the compartments, a cover part a hinge configured for hingedly connecting the bottom part with the cover part, and a lock configured for locking the cover part to the bottom part, with the lock comprising a one or more locking openings and one or more corresponding locking cams. The bottom part comprises a support member that is configured for engaging the cover part and wherein the one or more locking openings comprise and/or are circumvented by a backwards curved upper edge that is at least partially positioned in the transition region.
Convertible food containers
A container formed from a single piece of cardboard or like materials may double as a plate. The single piece may generally take the form of an oval, and may include a number of panels separated by specifically oriented creases and folds which enable the single piece to be folded into the container, and contain a food product such as a sandwich therein, or unfolded into a plate-like flat surface from which the food product may be eaten by a customer. A frame including a plurality of elbows, pegs or other extensions may be used to form the single piece into a semi-folded state, facilitating processes for preparing or packaging the food product.
HINGING PRODUCT AND APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FORMING A HINGING PRODUCT
Product made using a mass comprising natural polymers, wherein the product comprises at least a first and a second product part, connected by a hinge construction, wherein the hinge construction comprises at least one flexible sheet element and one bridge portion made of said mass comprising natural polymers, wherein the hinge construction is designed such that, prior to a first time hinging, the at least one bridge portion forms a more rigid connection between the first and second product part than the flexible sheet element and by hinging said bridge portion is severed, such that the first and second part are substantially only connected by the or each flexible strip.

Egg support assembly, and associated device and method
An egg processing apparatus is provided. Such an apparatus includes a plurality of egg processing devices configured to interact with a plurality of eggs carried by an egg carrier. An egg support assembly is positioned beneath the egg processing devices such that an egg carrier is capable of being moved between the egg processing devices and the egg support assembly. The egg support assembly includes a plurality of pedestals, with each pedestal having a plurality of discrete egg support members cooperating to form a seating arrangement portion for contacting and supporting an end of an egg in the egg carrier. An associated assembly and method are also provided.

Crate with collapsible wall
A crate, such as for transporting egg cartons or other items, includes a base, opposed side walls and a rear wall extending upward from the base. A front wall opposite the rear wall is selectably moveable between a closed position and a retracted, open position. In the retracted position, access to the interior of the crate is provided. In one embodiment, the front wall includes a plurality of pivotably connected sections, such that the front wall can be retracted to provide access to the interior.

Tri-fold egg carton for various size jumbo eggs
Tri-fold egg carton has a base and a cover each having a complementary matrix of egg receiving cells such that, when the cover is assembled on top of the base, the complementary cells encapsulate each egg in an individual cell pocket (see FIGS. 3-5). Each base cell and cover cell includes a central dome and first and second radially spaced apart circumferential hinges that surround the central dome, and lie radially inward of a lowermost standing ring, enabling the dome to move up and down above the plane of the standing ring (in the height direction of the closed carton) between multiple positions to accommodate jumbo eggs of varying dimensions (height and width) to hold them securely in their respective cell pocket. The base and cover further include full height cell posts with mating surfaces that engage in the assembled state. The carton further includes a lid which fits over the cover (of the assembled cover and base), in a secure and locked position.
