Manufacturing of polyethylene floating roof equipped by height adjustable bases for (carbon steel) petroleum storage tanks

A polyethylene floating roof design equipped with height adjustable bases. Allowing full discharge of the tank and having people enter the tank and the space below the roof in case of adjusting the bases in maintenance mode for dredging and repairs.

LIGHTNING PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR EXTERNAL FLOATING ROOF TANK

A floating roof system with lightning protection includes a storage tank and a floating roof disposed inside the storage tank. A shoe seal is installed in sealing contact with an inner side wall surface of the storage tank. A primary seal extends between a rim of the floating roof and the shoe seal. A secondary seal extends over the primary seal and has an end in sealing contact with the inner side wall surface of the storage tank. Several shunts are distributed along a perimeter of the floating roof. The shunts extend over the primary seal and under the secondary seal. The shunts are attached to the primary seal and shoe seal by connections distributed along the shoe seal. The shunts are also attached to the primary seal, the secondary seal, and the rim of the floating roof by connections distributed along the rim.

A shoring structure for insertion inside a tank through a manway of the tank and for installation under the floating roof of the tank. This shoring structure has: a telescoping upright structure made of detachable elements; and these detachable elements being configured for movement through the manway of the tank. Foldable top and bottom panels are mountable to the telescoping upright structure, the top and bottom panels being also respectively configured for movement through the manway of the tank. The foldable bottom panel being configured for integration of a pallet jack thereto, for movement of the shoring structure in a raised position inside the tank when the top and bottom panels being mounted to the upright structure. In another aspect, there is provided a combination of a shoring structure and a pallet jack incorporated in this shoring structure. Also described is a method of inspecting or maintaining a tank.

A floating roof leveling and protection apparatus comprising a plurality of isolators having bases being formed of a protective material to prevent an internal metallic internal roof support leg from directly contacting a tank bottom, a body extending axially and centered therefrom, a tapered end for insertion into the roof support leg, a fluid passage, an engagement means engaging the inner perimeter of the roof support leg, and a drain and isolator spacers, whereby a user may place an isolator spacer on the isolator and insert isolators into the roof support legs of a floating roof system to adjust the height of the roof support legs to level the floating roof thereby reducing the stress placed on the floating roof as the fluid level lowers, thus preventing damage to the bottom of a tank when the fluid level is decreased and the roof support legs contact the tank's bottom.
