DEVICE COMPRISING A RECEPTACLE FOR STORING A LIQUID
Equipment (1) including a container (19) for the storage of a liquid (2) as well as thermal insulation panels (12,13), wherein none of the thermal insulation panels (12,13) is mounted directly on or even in contact with an outer surface of the container (19), wherein a chamber (5) housing the container (19) is delimited by an enclosure (6) consisting of walls (7), a floor (8) and a ceiling (9), and which is accessible through an access opening, either in the form of an entrance opening in one of the walls (7) closeable by a door or in the form of a manhole (11) closeable by a lid (10), wherein an inner surface of the chamber (5) is entirely covered with the thermal insulation panels (12,13) in such a way that a volume of space occupied by the container (19) is smaller than a volume of space delimited by the thermal insulation panels (12,13) at the inner side of the walls, the ceiling and the floor, leaving space for maintenance between the outer surface of the container (19) and the thermal insulation panels (12,13) mounted to the inner surface of the chamber (5), and wherein the heat exchange between the insulated chamber (5) and its surrounding is restricted to (i) a heat transfer liquid flowing in at least one pipe, the pipe extending through the thermal insulation at the inner side of the chamber (5) between the container (19) and the outside of the chamber (5), and possibly (ii) an unwanted heat leakage just through the thermal insulation panels (12,13) at the inner side of the chamber (5).
Multi-ring plastic storage tanks and risers
A plastic article useful as a riser for a septic tank or as a water tank article is comprised of a multiplicity of plastic rings which are attached vertically to each other at joints. Ring pairs which alternately have inward and outward sloping conical walls nest within each other for shipment or storage. A lid is shaped for use with the topmost ring to cover the opening irrespective of which conical shape the ring has.
LIGHTWEIGHT VAULT COVER
Disclosed is a cover for a utility vault and a method for making such covers. The cover is formed from fiberglass reinforcement layers and a polymer mix matrix. The reinforcement layers include a bottom reinforcement layer, one or more edge reinforcement layers, and a top reinforcement layer. A first portion of the edge reinforcement layer overlaps a portion of the bottom reinforcement layer and a second portion of the edge reinforcement layer overlaps a portion of the top reinforcement layer. The reinforcement layers are formed from fiberglass fabric and may include fiberglass layers whose fibers are oriented quadraxially. The polymer mix impregnates the fabric layers and forms the bulk of the cover. The polymer matrix bonds the reinforcement layers so that forces applied across the top and bottom layers are communicated to the edge reinforcement layer. The polymer matrix includes a thermoset polymer resin and an expanded glass bead filler.
LOCKING SUBGRADE VAULT
A subgrade vault system with a locking lid assembly is provided. Specifically, a subgrade vault suitable for housing utility and similar equipment is provided, the vault comprising a main body portion, a cap, and a lid that may be selectively secured with one or more rotatable locking mechanisms to prevent or deter unauthorized access to vault contents.
Insulation disc for septic tank lid
An insulating disc can be easily installed and removed from inside a riser of a septic tank. The insulating disc is seated atop an opening of the tank lid and seals around the riser inner surface. The disc can include a core formed of R-10 extruded polystyrene sandwiched between two layers of high-density polyethylene. A flexible gasket can extend outward from the disc to seal against the inner surface of the riser. Retention tabs can also be provided to center and hold the disc in place. The disc can be divided into two semicircular halves that are hinged together. A hook, eyebolt and/or rope can be used to aid in removing the disc from the riser.
System and method for inhibiting water contamination in fuel holding tank
A system for supplying dry air to a fuel tank to remove moisture and inhibit contamination includes a dry air supply assembly having an air compressor and an air dryer configured to remove moisture from air supplied by the air compressor to the air dryer, and includes a fluid pump mounted within the fuel tank above a fuel level, with the fluid pump receiving dried air from the air dryer. A suction line extends from the fluid pump and includes an open end disposed at a bottom of the fuel tank. The fluid pump is adapted to receive dried air from the air dryer as a motive force to draw liquid from the bottom of the tank into the opening and up the suction line to the fluid pump, and discharge liquid from the fluid pump above the fuel level within the fuel tank.
Vessels with personnel access provisions
Embodiments of vessels include personnel access provisions having welded or otherwise permanent connections that substantially reduce the potential for leakage into or out of the vessels by way of the personnel access provisions.
Entryway protective collar
Embodiments of the invention are directed to a protective collar that covers the edges of a manhole or other personnel entryway. One device comprises at least two pieces and a hinge that connects the two pieces, which allows the device to be folded for storage. Another device includes a skirt portion that extends further into the manhole. A further device includes at least one light to provide light into the manhole. A still further device includes a surface port that provides a connecting point for a line, and a subsurface port that provides a connecting point for another line. A still further device includes another portion to cover any equipment that has been inserted into the manhole. A still further device includes at least one rung to assist in personnel in entering and exiting the manhole.
Spill containment system
A spill containment system is attachable to a riser pipe with an axially moveable seal. The spill containment system allows access to a drop tube in the riser pipe via a removable liquid communication assembly. The spill containment system includes a sealed interstitial space, which remains sealed during installation, service and use of the system. The spill containment system is protected by a weather resistant cover assembly.
