A bottle access device comprising a body, a central bore extending partway through the body from a first end, and one or more radial bores extending radially from the central bore through the side of the body. The bores may form a path from outside the body, through the radial bores, through the central bore, and out the first end. The device may be inserted through the wall of a plastic bottle, allowing access to product within the bottle via the bores by squeezing the bottle. The body may be threaded and the second end of the body may be pointed, allowing the device to act as a self-tapping screw for insertion into the wall of the bottle.

The covering assembly is disposed on the mainbody and includes a spacer element and a covering element. The spacer element is disposed on and covers the through hole. The spacer element includes a plurality of drain holes and a central connecting portion. The covering element is deformably disposed on the central connecting portion.

An access system for selectively accessing the contents of a container is provided. The access system embodies an access hole communicating through a lid of a container into the containing cavity. The access system may also embody an access tab with an adhesive layer that fastens to the lid so as to seal the access hole, whereby an operative end of the access tab not providing the adhesive layer is disposed near the periphery of the container, and wherein there is a gap between the operative end and the lid so that the access tab is peelable between a closed condition sealing the access hole and an open condition providing selective access to the contents of the cavity only through the access hole.

The upper one of the apertures is subsequently unsealed so that the liquid contained within the interior portion of the container is rapidly discharged into the user's mouth.
