CLOSURE
A closure for a container is provided. The closure comprises a cap and a retaining ring arranged under the cap for retaining the closure on the container in use. The cap and ring are joined by a pair of connecting arms. A first arm is non-frangibly connected to the cap at a cap tether end and circumferentially anticlockwise therefrom is non-frangibly connected to the ring at a ring root end. A second arm is non-frangibly connected to the cap at a cap tether end and circumferentially clockwise therefrom is non-frangibly connected to the ring at a ring root end. The cap can be tilted away from the ring with the arms providing a hinge-like function, and each of the arms twists between its cap tether end and its ring root end, whereby tension is generated in the arms.
Tethered, Hinged Closure
A closure includes a cap having a top wall and a skirt perpendicular to the top wall and extending downwardly from the top wall to a lower edge. The skirt includes an inner surface having a sealing formation. A band is concentric with and attached to the lower edge of the skirt by a plurality of frangible members. The band remains coupled to the body of the closure even after being removed from a container.
Drink cup lid
A package includes a cup for storing liquids and a lid for mounting on a brim of the cup. The lid is formed to include a sipping feature so that a consumer can drink liquid from the cup while the lid is mounted on the brim.
Container lid having selectively coverable access opening
A lid is provided that includes an access opening in a top wall thereof selectively coverable by a pivotable cover. The lid attaches to a foodstuff container and provides access to an interior of the container. The lid achieves this without requiring removal of the lid while also providing an impeded foodstuff dispense path having greater control. The cover pivots between open and closed positions, and in one form, can be secured in one or both positions. This can be achieved by releasably securing the cover to the top wall to hold the cover in the closed position and/or capturing a tab of the cover within a depression in an edge portion of the lid to hold the cover in the open position. The cover can further be integrally attached to the lid so that the cover is generally coplanar with the top wall when in the closed position.
RECLOSABLE MULTI-ARTICLE CONFECTIONARY PRODUCT PACKAGING AND METHODS WITH MULTI-LAYER GRAPHIC BRANDING
A reclosable hard shell transparent container for a confectionary product includes an inner graphic branding element extending interior to the receptacle, an outer graphic branding element extending exterior to the receptacle, and overwrap layer that collectively provide visually superimposed branding graphics to provide visually distinct packages utilizing the same container. The inner graphic layer facilitates a subassembly of the confectionary products for ease of loading the confectionary product in the container.
Document box with hold open feature
A document box includes a top container portion and a bottom container portion. The top container portion has a rear wall with a hollow rib integrally disposed thereon. The bottom container portion is rotatably coupled to the top container portion about an axis of rotation, and the top container portion is positionable between a closed position and an open position on the bottom container portion. The bottom container portion having a rear wall and a bottom wall. A raised member is positioned on the bottom wall adjacent to the rear wall. The top container portion where rotated to the open position releasably positions the raised member within the hollow recessed rib, thereby defining a hold open feature for the top container portion.
CLOSING CAP FOR A CONTAINER AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD
Described is a closing cap (1) for a container (2), which comprises a lateral wall (3) extending about an axis (Z) and a transversal wall (4) positioned at an end of the lateral wall (3), a separation line (5) being provided on the lateral wall (3) to form a retaining ring (301), which is configured to remain anchored to a neck (201) of the container (2) and extends up to a free edge (304), and a closing element (302) removably engageable with the neck (201), so as to open or close the container (2). The separation line (5) extends about the axis (Z) and is circumferentially interrupted to form in the lateral wall (3) a joining zone (305), which extends for a first angle (a), in which the retaining ring (301) and the closing element (302) are joined. The cap (1) comprises a tab (308), made in the joining zone (305), which extends circumferentially for a second angle (β) and is connected to the joining zone (305); the retaining ring (301) comprising a retaining portion (303) and a free portion (306), wherein the retaining portion (303) comprises an engaging element configured to engage internally with a locking ring (202) of the neck (201) during a passage from a closed condition to an open condition of the closing element (302), and wherein the free portion (306) comprises a movement element which extends circumferentially at least in the second angle (β) and is configured, during said passage, to allow a movement of the free portion (306) along an axis parallel to the axis (Z).
A CAP FOR A CONTAINER, COMBINATION OF A CAP AND A NECK OF THE CONTAINER AND ITS PRODUCTION METHOD
Described is a cap (1) for a container (2), a combination of a closing cap for a container and a neck of the container and a relative method for making the cap for the container. The cap comprises a lateral wall extending about an axis and a transversal wall positioned at one end of the lateral wall, a separation line being provided on the lateral wall to define a retaining ring, which is configured to remain anchored to a neck of the container and which extends up to a free edge; a closing element (302) removably engageable with the neck, so as to open or close the container; the separation line extends about an axis and being circumferentially interrupted to leave the retaining ring (301) and the closing element joined; wherein the retaining ring comprises a joining portion (305) at which the retaining ring is joined to the closing element; a first connecting band (306), which extends from a first end zone of the joining portion to the retaining portion (303), and a second connecting band (307), which extends from a second end zone of the joining portion, the second end zone being positioned circumferentially on the opposite side to the first end zone; a tab (308), interposed between the first connecting band (306) and the second connecting band (307) and being protruding, or aligned with respect to it, so that, when the closing element is in an open condition and the connecting bands keep the closing element connected to the retaining ring, the tab can rest on the neck (201).
