The cavity is positioned in either the first surface or the second surface. The elastomer segment is positioned within the cavity and extends beyond either the first surface or the second surface. The locking head extends from the head end of the elongated strap and includes an orifice shaped to receive the tapered end of the elongated strap and the elastomer segment.

The cavity is positioned in either the first surface or the second surface. The elastomer segment is positioned within the cavity and extends beyond either the first surface or the second surface. The locking head extends from the head end of the elongated strap and includes an orifice shaped to receive the tapered end of the elongated strap and the elastomer segment.

A cable tie comprises a belt, a head connected to the belt and having a passageway for receiving the belt, and a lock disposed in the head. The lock is displaceable parallel to a plane of the passageway along a stroke and has a protrusion configured to lock the belt.

The method further includes placing a reed within one of the reed passages and securing the reed with an elastic band.

The connector comprises a first passage and a second passage distant from the first passage that extends throughout the body along a direction perpendicular to the first passage. The passages house the locking blades. The passages comprise an entrance and an abutment wall. The second passage also comprises an exit. The entrances are for the insertion of an extremity of a strap, with the sloped locking blades preventing exit of the extremities of the strap through the entrances by blocking a portion of the strap between themselves and an abutment wall. An extremity of the strap can exit out of the connector through the exit of the second passage to be pulled to tighten the strap. Kits comprising the herein connectors are also described.

A cable tie includes a cable tie head that comprises a head portion. The cable tie also includes a cable tie body. The cable tie body comprises a main body that includes a body passageway; and a strap, wherein the cable tie head is attachable to and detachable from the cable tie body, and wherein the body passageway is formed to receive the legs for coupling the cable tie head with the cable tie body. The cable tie head is made from a different material than the cable head body.
