IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a paper tray, an elevating plate, a cam, and a shutter. The paper tray is configured to hold sheets. The elevating plate on the paper tray is arranged to ascend and descend between a descended position and an ascended position higher than the descended position. The cam is movable between a first position and a second position. The shutter includes a shielding portion. The shielding portion is located at a shielding position when the cam moves to the first position. The shielding position is a position that overlaps with a region in a height direction occupied by the cam at the second position. The shielding portion retracts from the shielding position when the cam has moved from the first position to the second position.
PICKUP ROLLER ROTATED BY DRIVING FORCE FOR MOVING KNOCK-UP PLATE
A feeding apparatus includes a knock-up plate to be rotatably installed on a main body of an image forming apparatus and install a paper, a knock-up spring to elastically apply pressure to the knock-up plate in a direction of a pickup roller, a cam to be fixed at one end of a knock-up shaft and downwardly apply pressure to the knock-up plate, and a driving force transfer member to transfer a rotating force of the knock-up shaft to the pickup roller.

RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes a sheet feeding device including a sheet feed tray on which a medium is mounted in an inclined orientation, a feeding roller configured to feed the medium, and a sheet feed slot that is defined by the sheet feed tray and the feeding roller i, and a recording section configured to perform recording onto the medium fed from the sheet feeding device. The recording apparatus includes a scanner unit that is disposed on a body of the recording apparatus and functions as a reading device for reading a document, and a guiding member that is inclined from a side surface of a guiding member installation section that is a side surface of the scanner unit on a sheet feed tray side in a state in which the scanner unit is closed with respect to the body of the recording apparatus.

PERIPHERAL CAPABLE OF SENSING MEDIA COUNT
A peripheral capable of sensing a media count includes a body, a stopper, a supply tray and a sensor assembly. The stopper is installed in the body. The supply tray accommodated within the body includes a base and a frame. The frame elastically and pivotally connected to the base supports media and pushes the media in a direction toward the stopper so that the media contacts the stopper. The sensor assembly installed in the body detects a position state of the frame to obtain a sensing signal corresponding to the number of the media.
Recording-medium container and image forming apparatus
A recording-medium container includes a press portion and an urging member. The press portion is disposed to be movable toward and away from a side of a recording medium stack loaded in the recording-medium container, and pressed against the side. The urging member urges the press portion toward the recording medium stack when a quantity of the recording medium stack exceeds a predetermined load.
