Medium containing device and image forming apparatus
A medium containing device includes a supporting member composed with a first part, a second part and a third part connecting the first part and the second part wherein the supporting member is configured to cause the first part to incline by being lifted up from a standard position, and supports recording media. When the supporting member is in the standard position, a first height position of an upper face of a first base part in a region adjacent to the first part is lower than a second height position of an upper face of the first part in a region adjacent to the first base part, and a third height position of an upper face of the second part in a region adjacent to the first base part is lower than a fourth height position of an upper face of the first base part in a region adjacent to the second part.
STACK HEIGHT IN IMAGING DEVICES
Examples relating to determining stack height in imaging devices are described herein. According to one example, an imaging device includes an input roller assembly to transport a print medium towards an image-forming assembly of the imaging device. The input roller assembly can include a pinch roller for drawing the print medium from a media stack. The imaging device further includes a pressure plate movably coupled to a body portion of the imaging device and biased towards the pinch roller. The pressure plate may hold the media stack between itself and the pinch roller and is movable by a first distance from a neutral position when the media stack is there between. The first distance is measured from a fixed point to a measurement region on the pressure plate and can indicate an instantaneous stack height of the media stack.
Medium supply apparatus and image forming apparatus
A medium supply apparatus includes a box member, a bottom plate, and a rotary portion. A medium is stored inside the box member. The box member is inserted into and extracted from a body of an image forming apparatus. The bottom plate is disposed at a bottom portion of the box member. The medium is placed on the bottom plate. The bottom plate is lifted up by an elastic force of an elastic member. The rotary portion is attached to a side wall, among walls of the box member, positioned on a lateral side with respect to a front side toward which the box member is extracted from the image forming apparatus. The rotary portion is rotatable about a location of attachment of the rotary portion. The rotary portion includes a rear portion and a front portion. The rear portion is positioned on a rear side, in contrast to the front side, with respect to the location of attachment. The rear portion is moved upward by a reaction force applied from the body when the box member is extracted. The front portion is positioned on the front side with respect to the location of attachment. The front portion is moved downward by rotation of the rotary portion due to upward movement of the rear portion to lower the bottom plate against the elastic force.

Sheet container, sheet conveying device incorporating the sheet container, and image forming apparatus incorporating the sheet conveying device
A sheet container includes a bottom plate, a regulating body, and a holding body. The bottom plate is disposed movable and has a bottom plate-side contact portion. The regulating body regulates a position of a trailing end of a sheet. The holding body has a holding body-side contact portion and to hold the regulating body. The bottom plate and the holding body have a gap between the bottom plate-side contact portion of the bottom plate and the holding body-side contact portion of the holding body in a state in which the bottom plate is not rotated. The bottom plate-side contact portion of the bottom plate and the holding body-side contact portion of the holding body contact with each other along with rotation of the bottom plate. The holding body moves to a downstream side in a sheet feeding direction in conjunction with the rotation of the bottom plate.

MEASUREMENTS OF LIFT PLATES
An example apparatus includes a lift plate of a tray to hold a print medium. A support member is operatively connected to the lift plate. A sensor is attached to the support member to measure a distance of the lift plate from the sensor. A processor may receive a measurement of the distance of the lift plate from the sensor, and output an indicator describing an amount of print media in the tray based on the measurement of the distance of the lift plate from the sensor.
