The injection molding machine, the material supply device, the temperature controller, the dryer, and the controller are provided inside the casing. The casing has a caster and is configured to be movable.

A sheet feeder apparatus includes a width detector for a sheet placed on a sheet placement portion, a conveyor for conveying sheets while separating the sheets one by one, a first detector for detecting a sheet having a first width at a plurality of first positions, a second detector for detecting a sheet having a second width that is not detected by the first sheet detector at a plurality of second positions, and a controller for determining skewing of a sheet based on a result of the detection of the sheet performed by the first detector if the width of the sheet is the first width, and determining skewing of a sheet based on a result of the detection performed by the second detector if the width of the sheet is the second width.

An example method for picking a media sheet from a media tray, the method comprising: controlling a media picker to perform a pick procedure to pick the media sheet from the media tray; upon detecting an error condition in the pick procedure, translating the media sheet in a direction within a plane of the media sheet; and controlling the media picker to retry the pick procedure to pick the media sheet from the media tray.

An example method for picking a media sheet from a media tray, the method comprising: controlling a media picker to perform a pick procedure to pick the media sheet from the media tray; upon detecting an error condition in the pick procedure, translating the media sheet in a direction within a plane of the media sheet; and controlling the media picker to retry the pick procedure to pick the media sheet from the media tray.

An image forming apparatus according to the present disclosure includes a skew correction device and a cleaning device. The skew correction device includes first conveying rollers. The first conveying rollers are rotatable about a predetermined rotation fulcrum. The first conveying rollers are, before a sheet, which is skewed, enters a device body, rotated from an initial position, and, when the sheet enters the device body, rotated back to the initial position while nipping and conveying the sheet. The cleaning device includes a toner conveying member that conveys residual toner on an image-carrying member to a predetermined container. Both the first conveying rollers and the toner conveying member operate by consecutively receiving a rotational driving force from a common electric motor.

An image forming device capable of reducing resources related to destruction of a wireless tag is provided. The image forming device according to the present embodiment includes a reader and writer, a fixing unit, a determination unit, and a control unit. The reader and writer reads information from the wireless tag. The fixing unit heats and conveys a sheet having the wireless tag. The determination unit determines a defect of the wireless tag based on a reading result of the reader and writer. If the determination unit determines that the wireless tag is defective, the control unit controls the fixing unit to increase an amount of heat applied to the wireless tag such that information cannot be read from the wireless tag.

An image forming device capable of reducing resources related to destruction of a wireless tag is provided. The image forming device according to the present embodiment includes a reader and writer, a fixing unit, a determination unit, and a control unit. The reader and writer reads information from the wireless tag. The fixing unit heats and conveys a sheet having the wireless tag. The determination unit determines a defect of the wireless tag based on a reading result of the reader and writer. If the determination unit determines that the wireless tag is defective, the control unit controls the fixing unit to increase an amount of heat applied to the wireless tag such that information cannot be read from the wireless tag.

A feeder of a sheet treating or a sheet processing machine comprises a sensor system, which sensor system, on a front side pointing in a direction of transport of the sheets to be fed or on the opposing, rear side of the pile of sheets to be fed, comprises one or more sensors, by the use of which sensors, a distance, with respect to at least two locations, which are spaced apart from one another transversely to the transport direction, at the relevant front or rear sides of the pile, can be ascertained. A medium conveying apparatus includes an ultrasonic transmitter capable of outputting an ultrasonic wave, an ultrasonic receiver opposed to the ultrasonic transmitter, to receive the ultrasonic wave and output an ultrasonic signal corresponding to the received ultrasonic wave, a pressure detection module to detect atmospheric pressure, based on the ultrasonic signal, a sound receiver to receive a sound and generate a sound signal corresponding to the received sound, an abnormality determination module to determine whether a medium conveyance abnormality has occurred, based on the sound signal, and a modification module to modify sensitivity of the sound receiver, correct the sound signal, or modify a criterion for determination of a medium conveyance abnormality by the abnormality determination module, based on the atmospheric pressure.

An image forming apparatus includes a sheet storage unit including a sheet tray on which one or more sheets are to be stacked, a sensor configured to detect that the sheet storage unit is being operated, and a processor configured to execute a predetermined process after the sensor detects that the sheet storage unit has been operated, and a predetermined condition relating to an occurrence of the sheet conveyance error is satisfied.
